Q. I'm redoing my bedroom and I need help. I have a small room with dark wood furniture and carpet. I'm willing to repaint my walls, but right now they are a neutral yellowish color. I really like vintage but I also like fun patterns, such as floral and chevron, in bright colors. I do not want to have to spend too much money. Please comment any decorating tips, design ideas, etc. Some website links would also be nice :)
A. i would keep it mature and do a tan wall color and white baseboards and ceiling
i would keep the bright floral to bedding and one canvas art over the bed that could have bright colors that pop with the bedding
adding to much bright colors will not give your room a statement tan walls...or a color you like more like baby blue or a brighter yellow...will be doable in the long run...so you can swap up the bedding...
no posters
vintage could be items placed on the wall or a cool head board or dresser...but less is best...

What are some good Christmas decorating ideas for a teen bedroom?
Q. I am 16, and love to decorate for Christmas, and especially since the family comes over for christmas eve! I know it's a bit early, but I wanted to know some good decorating ideas to make my room look extra special this year. All I have so far is a mini Christmas tree with lights, garland, and ornaments. What else could I do?
A. I would cut out some snowflakes and maybe put glitter on them and hang them from my ceiling mixed with the christmas lights (clear would look best)! Or hang the ornaments from the ceiling with cup hooks. I would also put a small tree in the corner and decorate it to match the colors you are using and maybe wrap a couple of empty boxes to put under it (or if you wanna use a miniature tree if you have a small room, you can decorate some miniature boxes too, so cute)!
If you don't already have or don't wanna spend money on a bedding set, you can buy plain red, green or white sheets. Accent the color of the room opposite of the color of your bedding. You can even cut out red and green felt shapes (stars, stockings, candy canes, trees) and use fabric glue or stitch them to a white pillow case for a sham on your bed or even your sheets! =)

any ideas for an almost 5 boys bedroom (who is crazy about cars and any vehicle really)?
Q. we need decorating ideas...the room is a bit small, but has floor to ceiling windows with a sea view. he looooovess cars and the color blue.
A. you can paste a full wall picture (high resolution) of a view from a racing car on one wall... it could show the dashboard and the road ahead... looks cool... and the other things can take a backseat while the concentration is on the wall... go for denim bed spreads and curtains... you get lots of shades to choose from... and they'll run well till he's into his teens... what more... he can even make shorts out of the faded curtains later!!!!
