Q. I asked this in decorating, but no one responded! So I'm moving my question over here where it can be answered by the smartest, most creative people in the world: Parents. Not to mention aunts, uncles, babysitters, and everyone else who just loves kids!
The bed will be a loft bed, so it will not be a race car bed. I plan on stacking a couple of tires and topping them with a round piece of glass for a little table. I'm also thinking of cutting a tire in half and using the halves as valances above the windows. We may even do a high shelf and run a model train along it. I may hang some airplanes from the ceiling too.
I'd love your opinion on these ideas and any ideas you guys might have. I really do not know how to use the loft bed with this theme. Maybe make the bottom into a mechanic's shop?
Thank you in advance for all your great ideas!

How to decorate a hunter green room into a kids room?
Q. We just moved into a rental home. So excited but one of the bedrooms is HUNTER GREEN! That's not even the worse part. It has a deer at a pond border going all the way around the room. Its a guys type room. I don't have any boys just girls and we want to turn this into the play room. We got them a multi colored pink and purple lamp and a purple carpet to try to lighten it up. But does anyone have any other ideas. No we can not paint. Thanks for your time!
A. You could hang lines (either retractable clothes lines, or tension rods), to drape curtains or fabric from, around the entire room.
Where is the wallpaper border at? If it is at the top, you could hang valances around the room to cover that and leave the rest of the walls green (see below)- either white so it would blend in with the ceiling or perhaps a cloud print.
With the green walls, you could use accessories to give it a fairies in the forest theme/feeling.
Have you asked about painting? It is not very expensive, and you could present it as your doing an upgrade FOR the landlord and that make him/her more open to it.

A. That's so cute, you guys are going to have a great time. I did one for my kids in our old house, so that's what I'm basing my answer on.
You would need to clean everything first. If they'll let you paint the walls, you should decide on your favorite colors and go for it. If painting isn't an option, start covering the wall with (both of your) artwork.
Get a cute rug, if you can.
Find shelves - if they'll let you shop at target or ikea, you could look there. If not, just pick up any shelves from a Goodwill store or a garage sale and try painting them.
If you have little windows at the top of your walls, you can make little curtains out of pillowcases or a sheet you like.
Also, pillows and beanbags would be great near the tv or books. Don't forget, anything plastic (chairs, boxes, etc ) can be spray painted any color you want with special spray paint made for plastic (Wal-mart, hardware store, etc)
You guys can paint your names on things, use "chalkboard paint," corkboard, whatever - you should just think of what you like, and then brainstorm about how you can make the theme part of your new room.
Good luck!! It sounds fun.
