bedroom designs for girls children image

So, my step dad is making the attic into a bedroom and a bath. I need help designing it! I am really into damask print and cheetah print! I'm a 17 year old girl. I was thinking dark eggplant purple with white and black damask bedding, or a lime green room with cheetah print bedding. Either one will have either damask or cheetah print accessories and decorations. Wdyt?
Answer
At 17, you will move out shortly so keep it a bit neutral.
You also like things that younger children like such a cheetah and lime green.
The purple and white will look amazing.Go for that. You can use accents of other colors too.
Paint it white and add purple and white bedding.
Look at JC penny. They have excellent bedding and very colorful.
Make lots of outlets and enough lamps.
A skylight would be a great idea.
carry your color theme into the bath.
Enjoy your new room.

Can you share some of your decorating tips and design ideas for a child's/toddler's room? I'm looking to add some decorative touches to my daughters bedroom and I've reached a point where I'm out of ideas but her room still looks bare.
Answer
it depends - if you decorate it now, do you have intention of doing so in the future? if not, paint it a nice neutral pale colour. and i suggest wall stickers- you can get loads: in her favorite animals, characters of other random things. Then if she doesnt like it you can change them!
If you want to be a little creative, maybe put her bed by a feature wall - and fill it with rainbows - butterflies, little quirky things she likes.
fairy lights are fun too - you can hang them at the top of the walls so at nighttime she doesnt get scared - the same with sticky glow in the dark stars - but these can be a pain to take off.
Just go a bit wild - if its your little girl then make it all fun and cheerful. maybe you two can make little pictures together out of finger paint or collage and hang them up in a corner of her room - that way she'll feel like she helped to decorate her room too :)
