how would a teenage girl go about designing her own bedroom?
Izzy
i'm a teenager looking to design a bedroom that's completely me. i love books and writing and would like to incorperate those somehow into the desgin. I love those old fashioned dark wood libraries and offices with the leather chairs, it just gives a great reading atmosphere to me. dark, warm colors are also very inviting. how can i get my ideas out of my head? and what about controling budget costs? any advice would be appreciated!

Hello :-)
The first thing you need to do is make a list of what you WANT. For example, you want dark-wood furniture and you want to incorperate reading and writing into your bedroom. What else? Do you love chandeliers? What kind of window treatments do you want? What kind of lighting do you want? What kind of art ETC do you want on the walls?
Then, make a list of what you NEED. For example, do you need more space for your books? Where will you put them? What about one of those beds with the built-in shelves? Or do you need more organizational devices? You're a writer, so do you need somewhere to store your writing tools?
After that, it's just a matter of putting what you need and what you want together. Decide on a color that will look good with dark-wood furniture (personally I love dark-reds with dark-woods). Then decide on what kind of bed you want (I love beds with built-in storage). If you like the cozy feeling, consider getting a dark-colored bed-spread with lots of pillows. It gives off a luxurious feeling.
So far your room sounds amazing :-) Enjoy redecorating!
