Boy/Girl bedroom decorating ideas?

So, I recently moved into an apartment, and I am not allowed to paint the walls. They walls are a beige color, which is very* boring. I share a room with my boyfriend and I'm not girly myself, so please, no girly girl bedrooms. :p Lol. All I have to put on my walls are two sarongs, a quilt, and a huge dry-erase white board.

I like vintage a lot. So ideas based around that would be fantastic. But anything would help.
I also had a hobby of beading and scrap booking, so I have plenty of beads, colored/patterned paper, stickers, etc. I love DIY art, but I lack inspiration. That's where you guys come in! :)

Painting the kids bedroom...?

4 kids will be sharing a bedroom. 2 boys both (4) and 2 girls (5) and (7). They are siblings and my friend only gets to have them once in a while but still wants to fix up a room for them thats theirs. Anybody have any ideas how we can paint and fix the room up?Any theme ideas that will work for both genders?
