i'm moving into a new house soon and i've been thinking of using the ocean and beach theme to decorate my bedroom but i dont want a overly beach bum type of bedroom.i want to use shades of blue and green. i would like a fresh feel to the room because i live in country with a hot climate. any decorating ideas and ideas for paint and furniture?

I have the perfect paint color for you, it's called "Rainwashed" by Sherwin Williams. I wanted a look similar to your's in my bedroom. I too live in the country and wanted my room to have a feel that I'm on vacation with the ocean just outside my window. I painted all the woodwork white. Hung white sheers with white venetian blinds behind them and bought a beautiful white Matelasse' coverlet (there on sale at J C Penny right now, queen size only $44.99). A few well placed pieces of coral and a few favorite seashells in a basket on the floor, a nicely framed (also white) favorite picture of the ocean and the room turned out to be everything I was looking for. What design ideas do you have for a woodsy log cabin feeling?

What type of furniture and wood type? i like pine, and mahogany. what metals? color schemes or any other neat ideas for decor do you have?
what type of kitchenware? (pots,cups,dishes?) load me up with ideas or examples

Log furniture can do much to add a woodsy log cabin feeling. Cedar and aspen are the most beautiful types of wood as far as I'm concerned, and if you have logs with character they can really add a rustic feel. Red cedar is also very pretty, and adds a cedar scent to the cabin. As for decorating ideas, a log quilt rack adds a nice touch totjere a cabin bedroom, as well as a source of warmth in the snowy north.
There is some pretty neat furniture out there that features canoes, and would look nice in a cabin-type setting. Leather furniture also looks nice in rustic decor, as does knick-knacks and furnishings built around an animal theme. Some popular themes would be bears, moose, deer, or trout.
There are also some very beautiful patterns for couch covering that feature a woodsy look. You can also have bedspreads and curtains made out of those patterns.
Log home magazines are a great place to look for more ideas on log cabin decor. They have pictures of beautifully decorated rooms. I would look at those magazines, or some log cabin picture books, and make notes of what I liked about each room. Then I would look for those items on the Internet.
