bedroom design for little girls image
Q. I recently moved into a new apartment, and my Christmas present is getting to decorate my room however I want.
I want the theme to be ballet, but i don't want it to be too little girlish.
I'm 17, I want it to be cozy, clean, but still sort of mature.
Thanks for your help!

do you mean ballet theme meaning having a ballet bar? or the whole theme to be designed around this? i am not a ballerina but when i think of ballet i think of girls on toes and guys in tights and tutu's - yeah not very informative i know, but i would suggest checking out HGTV - i think they have a website - maybe you could find some helpful info there? otherwise i would suggest tones like a warm pinkish tone, or a gray to maybe even a soft blue maybe even a camel color somewhere - and maybe only on half the wall (bottom color, top white? or wall color and celing white)? wood floor i think = best option. hope this helps a bit :)

What color should I paint the walls in a bedroom with light wood floor, a earthy-brown bed and lots of light?

I need to paint my bedroom because i can't stand having white walls and I wanted other peoples opinions on what color would go well in a room that has light wooden floors, a earthy-brown bedspread with maroon sheets and gets lots of sunlight during the day. I'm trying to get some new idea's that would go well and make the room look a little nicer than it currently does.

I can give you thrree thoughts but i havent seen the room cause ceiling height and base board color plays a part too. Thought one which is easy painting, a very deep red which will absorb the light and enhance your comfort set. thought number two, A nice yellow such as honey (girls like it) but this takes a tone down which requires a tinted glaze, such as brown or even deep red, (your local paint department should have pamplets on how to do it yourself.) I know it sounds crazy but ive seen it, NICE.. My final thought is to to take something in your design of the room (example the color of a shirt in a picture on the wall, or a less noticed color in the comfort set) and paint one wall that color, perferable one that has the window or windows or big furniture up against it and then pic a earthy tone that is a lighter shade.. If I sound crazy, than my other answer is to go to the paint store and gather some pamplets on painting.
