Most of the time, not a problem. I just see that some days out of the year, we need something extra.
We already use childproofing (I only use back burners, no standing water, outlet plugs, no marbles, etc.)
We already keep things on high shelves, the walls are bare so they can't break pictures.

What I mean is they break hangers, climb everything, take things apart, ruin their clothes and so on and so forth. They are gifted and hyper...some of you know what I mean. We study the bible with them, so most days, there's no problem. I also organize DAILY extra projects in addition to the chores, tv, educational games, etc. But FOR WHATEVER REASON, some days I'm sick or something and those are the days when they decide it's a free for all.

My condolences...
I got nothing, you seem to have covered the obvious.

Been there.
First, let me preface by saying my mother had 2 well behaved girls. So when I was expecting my second and expressed concern about keeping my son in line while I nursed the baby, my mother said,

"I just gave you a coloring book and it was no problem." Yeah, thanks mom. Her grandkids are 5 boys, no girls, NOW she knows what I was talking about.

My 2nd son hardly got to finish a nursing in peace and I found myself putting the chair against the bedroom door so my 2 year old had to stay with me and couldn't get into trouble. I also had to become a better disciplinarian, better organizer and know when to ask for help.

We had a large basement that we added a sandbox, fisher price climbing toy, block, balls etc. This was not all day, every day space. It was fun space when earned or if I needed the break.
We went outside as much as possible. In Connecticut it's not always possible.

If they drew on the walls, they had to clean it.
If they broke it, I threw it out.
If they touched my things, I removed their favorite for 1 week
Time-outs are useless for a hyper child - try jumping jacks.

I don't know what age your kids are, but as soon as they are verbal (age 2-2.5) they are able to understand your words. Keep them to a minimum, your actions speak more. Don't threaten, DO.

Feet on the floor
Not yours - don't touch
No hitting
