Teen girl bedroom ideas?

Elizabeth

Ok so I am 13 and my dad is letting me do my own room which I'm really excited about! But i have know idea what i want to do! I want to have a relaxing and mature room. My room is medium size so i have some space i can work with. i want some color but NO neons, or any funky colors like orange hah. I have ugly beige carpet that i cannot change but i may paint my walls. So basically i need ideas, good websites (not PBteen! And even though i love urban outfitters please don't mention it) for bedding and anything else, also ideas are 100% wanted and i always love a good DIY! haha and thank you so much for your suggestions

Try getting on pinterest.com its litterally the best thing for room decor. I am having the same problems. I have seriously thought for 3 years on how I would like to do my room. So trust me I have a pretty good idea of what you might like even though idk you.
You can really work with the beige carpet. Move all your furniture out first and make sure to clean it.
Room colors I would suggest: You could do a periwinkle blue/purple and add some white and dark colored wood furniture. This is the photo i got the idea from

You could do midnight blue with white furniture and gold accents.

You could paint it a wine red and do gold detail to match

You could try a light brown and add leather furniture

Change your light fixture it will make a huge difference!
Hope these helped a little!!!.

Martha Stewart Living is a great site that has a lot of very clever and original ideas that you can incorporate - some are do-it-yourself, so you get double the fun of planning and also of helping to create some of the decor/accents. Below is a link to the home decor section of her site, but you might also check out the crafts area for ideas about cusions and decor groupings.

You might also go to any site that sells furnishings (such as JCPenney or Sears or Bed, Bath, and Beyond), and see what sorts of things they're doing with their showcase rooms that they're advertising. It might give you some of the ideas and inspiration you are seeking. Good luck!
