bedroom designs?

anne

can anyone suggest a beautiful design for a teenage girl's bedroom. i am having problems because the floor is green.

Answer
the green floor isn't a problem

go with a bohemian look, with lots of colors,

satin comforter (my friend got one for $34 at Ross - like a TJ Maxx or other seconds stores)

mosquito netting,

lots of storage, bookshelves, wardrobes,

lamps and sconces of different colors,

throw pillows with texture, corderoy, embroidery, silky.

Sheer curtains in different colors, over the windows, over the doors, put up curtain rods on the walls and hang curtains where ever you want, instead of painting the walls if you are uncertain about a paint color. A soft green, or blue, or mid-tone red, warm yellow will look great on the wall.

Avoid pastels. You want rich jewel tones to draw attention away from the green carpet.

Set up a small reading area away from your bed and desk. An old armchair from a second hand store draped with chenille throws will give you a comfy space to relax.

Organize the desk, it will help with studying and preparing for college. Now's a good time to get a filing cabinet and learn to file personal papers and bank statements.

Bedroom design ideas for a 17 year old?

Well i'm moving away with my dad for my first year of college and i have a very nice room and brand new bedroom set.
My daddy said that i can paint the room any color i want but i want my room to be super cute!
I am a classy girl and not very flashy and my favorite color is green with pink in 2nd place.
Colors, though, aren't that big of a deal. I mainly want a nice room that i can be proud of.
I'm tired of my blan green room that i'm currently staying in.
any ideas or websites that i should go to with pictures...
I NEED IDEAS!
Thanks very much!

Answer
I think your design should develop from many different sources. The more information or designs that you research the better. Try doing searches on the internet like "room designs for late teens" Another great way is to go one of the larger book sores and ask for help or a point in the right direction. You seem to be creative person and most likely the end result will be a combination of ideas that you came across in your venture. Other search examples are Better Homes and Gardens, room storage and Sunset magazine. You've already started planning so trust your instincts and research, research, research! It will evolve as you see the different types of designs. Good luck with your project and college!
