Teen girl bedroom design, color scheme, theme suggestions?

Caroline

I'm redoing my bedroom which is currently hot pink and completely and overly feminine. I'm looking for ideas that are still girly but more mature. Also does anybody have any suggestions for ways to incorporate animal print into a room without it looking like my old room or tacky. Thank you so much!

I had a hot pink room too! I painted it tiffany blue and it has hints of zebra like a zebra chair, waste basket, pillows, ect. I suggest the shabby chic line from target. I got this baby blue comforter with pink roses from the shabby chic line (http://m.target.com/p/simply-shabby-chic-cabbage-rose-comforter-blue/-/A-14007441). I got matching curtains! On my shelf i have a mini mannequin i got a tj maxx. Also i got a huge detailed black mirror. My lamp is this simple one and it matches fine http://m.target.com/p/room-essentials-5-head-floor-lamp-pink/-/A-10704219

A zebra rug would match the tiffanny blue too!

Hope your room turns out good! :)

For colors, white and a light pastel color always look good. Like you could do white, baby blue and a light teal. You could also add a little pale yellow. If you like darker colors, go for a light mocha with burgundy and dark purple/reds.

If you go with the white/pastel idea, the actual bed (headboard etc) should be white and the bedding should be either baby blue or light teal. The desk should be either white or baby blue/light teal. The walls should be baby blue, teal or light yellow. You could add a white design around the top of the walls for extra effect. Curtains would be either white or baby blue/light teal/pale yellow. Vanity should be either white/light teal/baby blue. On your desk (school work) you could have a small pot plant in a pot (baby blue, light teal, pale yellow) and some candles with your school stuff. You could also add a photo frame with a pic of you and friends/family but make sure the frame matches the colors. For your vanity, line up your products neatly and add some home ornaments. For your walls you could get some paintings/framed photos of the ocean, the beach or flowers.

If you went with the mocha/burgundy idea the bed should be a darkish wood (but not ebony dark) with light mocha bedding. The desk should match the color of the bed, as should the vanity. The walls should be a light mocha or light burgundy. The curtains should be a deep wine red. Get some dark mocha (brown) cushions to accentuate your bed. For your desk add coffee scented candles and any home decor in a deep red/brown/mocha color that goes with the theme. For artwork for your walls, go for paintings/pictures of things in deep, dark colors too. Try and stick to the red/brown colors.
