Answer
Hello There,

I am going to help you organize your ideas.

1. Do you have a budget

2.The bedspread is usually the focal point so I would say replace or buy a a duvet cover.

3. Do you want to add furniture to the room. If you are thinking of of that I would suggest you get a portable kitchen island cart. You can use it for displaying your accessories. The advantage to this is that they are portable and can be moved as you like. You can find this at the resource below. This site has reviews of all kinds of colors and styles.

4. You can use decorator pillows to tie the colors together
5 Replace the curtains with sheers. they are classy and inexpensive.

Now about the colors and themes: This is what we did with our daughter's room:

She likes the forest. So, first decide what you absolutely like and would make you feel peaceful in.
We painted two walls hunter and two walls tan. She then put framed prints of a forest scene and a waterfall, one on each wall. We added an oval mirror and a framed family picture collage. It is a very beautiful room and she loves it. For the bedding she choose stripes and dots with colors of hunter, tan, red and yellow.

Color combinations are: lime green and fuchsia

purple and sky blue

orange and lime green

black and white with yellow
....just to say your combination is limited to your imagination. This is just a start.

I did not send you to a website....sometimes we just need to determine what we want then go looking or else we become frustrated.

These are not exhaustive ideas but they will allow you to start the process of imaging what the room could look like.

Please email me if you have any more questions.

Have fun,
Romona

help with colours for my bedroom?

Barry Bens

i have white architraves and cornices, grey walls, and jarrah floor boards and white furniture.
what colour curtains and bed spread should I have?

My bed sits against my window, so should the quilt cover and curtain color match? and what colours will go with the colours i have.

Answer
It sounds beautiful the mouldings and embellishments are very Italian. I understand you are a 16 YO Female in Australia. But I don't know enough to really make a room for "you". But I can answer the questions you have presented.

First of all you need to define your style a bit. The curtains and spread should blend not necessarily match. As long as you also blend elements in the room. For instance.

http://www.genuinestyle.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/eclectic-bedroom-5.jpg This is billed as eclectic.. As you can see many fabric textures and distinct prints were used...but it goes. The trick here is altho they used a VERY bold flower on the bed it's been minimized by it only taking a portion of the bed.

They can easily be pulled in a different texture in the drape. and again http://brookegiannetti.typepad.com/.a/6a00e554d7b8278833010536cf4f10970c-500wi

So imho think white preferably in lace http://cgi.ebay.com.au/DOMINIQUE-WHITE-Cotton-Lace-Double-Size-Quilt-Cover-Set_W0QQitemZ300373792150QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Bedding?hash=item45efac5596

Add a bottom colored blanket and coordinating throws in ANY color and bring an element to the curtians. Doing this, when you get bored with the accent color.. you wisk it away and go for something different. Glass lamp. They have the ones you can fill with different colored glass stones or flowers ect. as you alter your look. http://www.ivytrellishome.com/catalog.php/ivytrellis/dt80693/pd1922317/Fillable_Glass_Lamps

Best thing to do is find an accent peice that you really enjoy then build your colors off of it http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BA1001G-B-Stained-Glass-Tiffany-Butterfly-Lamp_W0QQitemZ150394851098QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Lighting_Fans?hash=item23043b4f1a
