Decorating a college apartment?

Kevin

I am a guy moving into a 2 bedroom apartment with another guy. We have 2 bathrooms and a small kitchen. I am looking to remodel the apartment for 2 guys. A girl lived in it before me and needs a major make over for guys. I am looking to spend very little money. We cannot change carpet, or paint the walls... The walls are white. Im looking for some idea on home made decorations or cheap ideas.

Thanks!!!
I am moving into an apartment with another guy. His sister was his old room mate and has decked the place out as a girls dream home.

We need some major help on a makeover!!! Only problem is we cannot paint the walls. I need some major help because I am having to redo the entire living area and my room.

I need some cheap and easy college ideas to spice up the apartment!!!

Pics, web sites, ideas, anything and everything under the sun will work.

Thanks all!!!

Answer
Just completed this exact project. (Same apt, same rules, same cheap budget- 2 guys). Total Cost $500: to furnish, equip, and decorate entire apt.
1)start by telling family and friends that you are looking for "hand me down furniture". Choose wisely from offers, we turned some down (for example a pink floral sofa)
2)start searching and collecting furniture, art, kitchen necessities, etc from second hand stores; great finds/ very inexpensive. (Don't worry IF nothing matches - easily fixed).
3) Choose an on overall colour scheme using your "found sofa" to get you started. (We found a black queen sized sofa bed, excellent condition - then we found a black and blue table/chair set for kitchen -
4)Found a black glass coffee table, chrome legs: retail $250, liquidation store price $30
5)Colour scheme used throughout apt- Black, Blue, Tan, with Natural Pine accents and chrome/stainless steel accessories.
6)Buy a gallon of BIN (shellac based primer), and a gallon of interior alkyd paint for mismatched furniture finds. We painted tables, beds, night stands, dressers, bookshelves, desks, picture frames etc - black.
7) Found brass lamps/ framed mirrors - spray painted chrome.
8) Art- found odd retro / interesting items and hung as art
- printed then framed photos from internet, found frames $1.
9)Cheap mini- blinds at big box store
10)Tons of stuff found at $Dollar Stores, Liquidation Stores, Thrift shops - and of course hand me downs from family/friends.
11)Dishes/ Cutlery/ Kitchen stuff: scrounged some, found some cheap, bought some new

Have fun "hunting".

Note: the guys were slobs before they got the apt.
Their apt now looks so great they keep it spotless,"house proud".

As soon as you move in you will need: Food/ beverages
-cleaning supplies, basic tools (hammer,a few screw drivers etc), a shower curtain, toilet paper, towels, clothes hangers, bedding

Remodeling New Bedroom..any ideas?!?

So im moving upstairs (its 2 story house) its been vacant for a while and my parents decided for me to move upstairs. Im stuck with my brothers Twin size bed because mine is King size its going to be a big hassle to move it up there and the bedroom is pretty small...but big enough for me so i need ideas on how to decorate it. one of the problems is that the carpet is an ugly green and i cant convince my parents to remove it because the carpet is new and it was pretty pricey.
I want my bedroom to be a relaxing environment especially that im going to college this upcoming year. I was thinking of putting pictures on my wall of my boyfriend and I idk what else my mom says im a plain and boring person because i don't like putting posters on my wall.

This is the color of the Carpet:

and the bed looks similar to this only twin size.

Answer
Pictures light up a room, so I love that idea. How about a new bedding set? If you don't like posters, then what about a couple of mirrors on the wall. On one wall, you could hang a small mirror, and then add your pictures around that. Then hang a larger mirror on another wall. Good luck!
