im a teenage(16) girl and im moving int a bigger bedroom in my basement. i dont know how to design it i'll accept any ideas anyone has to offer! i need suggestions for ideas!!

Answer
depends on your style.
any favorite colors??
some people want more bold things like stripes and polkadots. some like flowers. some like just something soothing.
i am 17.
i personally like something soothing and relaxing like a greyish blue with dark furniture. but that is me.
my room now is purple.
do you like your room to have a theme. flowers, butterflies, bohemian, surfer, jungle, etc.
my favorite websites to look at stuff are:
pbteen.com
hgtv.com
target.com
all have great stuff.
decide what you want. everyone is different so i cant say what i like is something you will like. but look around at different places first before you decide. i wish i did a few years ago. my room seems kinda kiddyish now. so that might be a fact you want to consider -make sure it is something you wont want to change in 2 years.
good luck and have fun :)

Does anyone have any good ideas on how i can make my bedroom cooler?

Well, i don't think my bedroom is that interesting. It's just an average room with nothing to make it particularly individual.
I'm a teenage girl by the way, muchly into music, and indie and emo kind of stuff =D
Does anyone have any good ideas on how i can make it a little cooler? Stuff that's not too expensive =]

Answer
Okay, deep, royal purple for ceiling. Yes, the ceiling. Paint the walls a soft, light butter yellow. (Purple and yellow compliment one another, not lemon yellow, butter yellow) Put up all your artwork, and think about putting things on the walls that normally wouldn't go there, little decorative hooks, and hang beads and favorite necklaces there. Try using paper lampshades to soften the glow of lamps and you can paint designs on them. Film posters, photos of family and friends in unique frames, the frames do not have to match. Pull the purple color from the ceiling into fabrics for your furniture and bedding. Hang fabric strips from cheap curtain rods like long banners on the walls. Just make sure that some of the items you hang up have some of that same purple and deeper shades of the butter yellow, some red orange (sunset, not brick color). It will make the room very unique, cheerful and most definately yours. Get small cans of bright colored acryllic paint that compliment the purple and yellow, and have your friends sign their names on your walls with the year. Encourage them to draw a little character of themselves to go with it. Family too, if you like. Or paint little symbols on the walls to go around the art you hang.
The beauty part is that this is just paint....it can be covered up anytime you get bored with it.
