How much would it cost me to have my bare 1 bdrm apartment interior designed?

Q. I have no decoration skills at all. I have a basic one bedroom apartment and have about $10,000 to spare. Is that enough to make my apartment look and feel really cool and high tech?

A. Dude - there are women everywhere who would love to help you for free. There are also professionals who would love to take a big cut to do the job. Do you have a friend who's style you like? Ask him or her for help. Actually some furniture stores will offer the service if you spend enough on furniture. Some areas offer this as a free service and get paid by the companies that do the work. Look on line at all the decorating - ladies - home improvement magazines - they all have on line decorating ideas you can peruse. (Lowe's, Home Depot, Ladies Home Journal) Happy searching - Try this: http://valspar.com/project-ideas.html?source=p&mcode=ValsparSearch2009_YahooSearch or type in "interior decorating" in your search line to see where it will take you.

What sort of stuff would you find in a 1940s posh/upper class bedroom?
Q. I am doing a play called The maids - Jean Genet and it is set in the 1940s, I need to have an idea of what things and patterns are in a women's bedroom, who has servants, big house very high class. If you have anything to show me via any websites photos etc. That would be great. Thank You very much.

Notice the ornate drapery, the chaise lounge, the vanity table and chair.
Don't get stuck thinking all the furnishings have to be from the 40's. Surely there are lovely pieces left over from the 20's and 30's.

This is a pretty basic idea:

Consider whether this is the 1940's closer to the 30's (art deco), or closer to the 50's (atomic age)

What would be a good teen girls bedroom theme?
Q. Okay, im a teen girl, but i have no idea what i like! Im girly girlish but im also really into superheroes (wonder woman, batman, the flash, hawkgirl ect.) im going to be gettin my own room soon, and ill be able to decorate it anyway i want, but how? Any ideas on how to be girlyish and tomboyish at the same time?

A. If you've never had your own room before, your going to love it :)
One person already said this with the stripes, but me personally I've always liked the two hues of pink on the Victoria's Secret bag. I'm already 21 and I just bought paint baby pink and a rosy pink for my walls. If your on a budget Target has a cool new line called "Simply Shabby Chic" thats pretty reasonable.

Also, animal print bedding also gives off the vibe of a strong feminine
