How to decorate a bright, fun, teenage room?

Q. my familys building a new house and i need colors today..i havent given it any thought really, but i want it to be a fun place to hang out with my friends and look cool. i dont want a pretty bedroom, but a princess theme would be cute. im 14 girl btw. so what colors? i wantto be fun and different. i hate orange. thanks!

A. Depending on your furnature, this idea would be neat. I have seen others do this and it looks awesome! Pain your walls white with black trim...Get a white or black patterned rug (Polka dots, strips, or zebra print) Hang black and white pictures on the wall (When you get pictures printed you can make them black and white) of you and your friends, family pets, or random items (Maybe jewels or a castle?) Put them in BRIGHT frames (Hot pink, lime green, ect...). Buy a bright, fun chair or chairs for you and your friends to sit in (bean bags work good also. Depending on your budget, you can also find some cool short coffee tables that would look cute. ....Then, Get a bright solid print comforter. Decorate your bed with crazy fun pillows.

Ikea is really budget friendly and their prodects are very sturdy. They also have some nice chair cushions if you get hard chairs (Also, chairs starting at $15!) Almost all of my furnature is from there.

Have fun decorating!

teen girl bedroom redecorating ideas?
Q. i have had the same bedroom since i was 10! and i am now 13! it's a little to much pink, baby blue and yellow. and i was planning on redecorating sometime soon. it would be very helpful if you could give me some ideas or a link to a website that might help :) i'm not necessarily on a low budget but i cant spend a lot

some ideas for my bedroom are
-colourful
-fun
-cozy
-and just stuff like signs that say: laugh, love, ect.

A. You're right, a bedroom should be all of those things! I'm a teenage girl too and I'm currently in the middle of decorating my bedroom! I've got some ideas for you here but just to give you a few ideas I'm doing my bedroom with purple, pink, and lime green. I've painted the wall behind my bed a really nice purple colour and I have a gorgeous purple, pink, and green bedding set. I'm gonna buy some cute lamps and a rug for my room and then I think I'll be done! Here are some ideas for your room:
First off, get a theme or colour scheme. For example, you could decorate your room in a shabby-chic style or maybe a more glamorous movie-star theme! It's up to You! If you don't want a theme then just get a colour scheme. Say, bright candy-apple green and lollipop pink! This can look AMAZING! This is a website with lots of different themes. Just click on the themes in the top left-hand corner for inspiration!

Move around your furniture if you think it will look better with, say, the bed under the window and your desk near the door. Now buy your bedding, paint, and curtains, as these can really change a room! Buy bedding that either matches your paint or is in a coordinating colour. Look at these websites or Google around for ideas and pictures!

You colud paint all your walls, just one accent wall behind the bed, (This is what I did in my room! :D ) or you could do stripes or wallpaper! It's up to you!

Once you've got your basics, do the really fun part. Shopping! Bring a friend if you like and go to lots of different shops. Try to look out for...
Beanbags,
Floor cushions,
Mirrors,
Wall Art,
Cute Furniture like trunks that you can store stuff in!
Lamps,
A cool headboard,
An area or accent rug (This is quite important!)
And stuff like that.

I think that's a great idea to do signs around the place! There are different ways you could do this:
*If you're creative, You could use blackboard paint and either paint maybe a whole wall of it or just a section, maybe in a cool heart or star shape! Then you can write and draw and scribble all over it as much as you like! The best part is, it'll be super-easy to put up a new word or phrase whenever you want to!
*You could also just paint, write or stencil directly onto the wall with whatever words you like. How about writing someting like "Freindship" or "Love" above your bed or window?! Ask your parents first though!
*If you don't want to do any of these, you can buy wooden letters from a craft shop and decorate them any way you want, then either attach them to the wall with glue, arranch them on a shelf, or hang them from the ceiling with pretty ribbons!

You can also display medals & trophies you've won, framed school papers, photos and general treasures to personalise your room. Have fun and enjoy it and if you're girlie, don't forget Fairy Lights!

I need some decorating ideas...?
Q. I am a teenage girl who needs a new room. My family has a low budget and I know that. I love bright colors and funky patterns, and I'm looking for some DIY projects that are fun and easy to do. I am working with really old, antique furniture: A maple/oak vanity, chest of drawers, and nightstand. The bed is an old white daybed, with golden accents. I was hoping it could be kind of modern with a retro spin: you know, teacup chairs, cool lamps, that kind of stuff. Please help!!

A. Check out local thrift stores (Goodwill, Salvation Army) for funky furniture and accessories. Always great finds to be found. Or, check with your parents if it is ok to paint the furniture you have. Paint makes a big impact for a small amount of money. Either on furniture or walls. Make stripes or polka dots of varying sizes on one focal wall. There are so many colors to choose from, and designs are endless. I don't know what kind of ceiling you have but if it is paintable, do it! I do this with all of my rooms and it just gives the feel that you have stepped into something more than a bedroom. It's very cozy too. Be creative and have fun!
