How to style a small bedroom with a tanning bed?

Q. I have a small room with a tannning bed in it and I need some ideas on how to style the bedroom, inluding the tanning bed.

Answer
Go with a beach theme. Cause when i think tanning I think beach!:) Like..... beautiful ocean water. Palm trees, Hammock. If you wanted to go a little bit more tropical with the room then you could get someone to paint. When I go to the tanning bed, everything is Tropical themed. For example: there are Flamingo's and palm trees and beautiful flowers!:)

What are some romantic ideas i can do for my girlfriend at home?

Bret

My girlfriend and I have been dating for about 10 months now. We both love eachother a lot and and have actually talked about our future together and everything, but I feel like I disappoint here sometimes because I have a hard time making decisions and I'm not the most romantic guy out there. I dont what it is, I just have a hard time coming up with ideas and being creative. Any suggestions on romantic things I could do for her at home and that doesn't cost a lot?

Thanks!

Answer
Start by writing her a romantic love letter. Tell her how you feel about her, reminisce about the good times you've had and how you have a secret surprise for her when she gets home. Put the letter in her handbag before she goes to work/college so she finds it during the day. This will help build the anticipation.

Make sure your home is aired so open doors and windows and do not eat anything with a strong smell during the day. Next either buy some red roses or, if they are too expensive, buy some tulips. Pull off a couple of the heads and scatter the petals on your inside door mat with a small trail leading further into the house. Spray some of her perfume in the air near the front door and in the lounge, bedroom and bathroom.

Next up you need to decide whether a nice home cooked meal is going to win her heart or if she prefers being pampered, or both! If she is likely to appreciate you cooking her a meal then get online and find some recipes for one of her favorite dishes. It doesn't have to be overly complicated as it's the thought that counts so don't let the thought of having to suddenly be a top chef be an impediment. Find something simple that you can knock together and, so long as you serve with some nice wine, a well laid out table with candles and a nice selection of tunes in the background, the quality of the food will not be harshly judged - just don't burn it is all!

If she likes to be pampered you could go the extra mile and run her a hot bubble bath so that it is ready for when she gets home. Put some fairy candles around the bath to help set the mood and if she has any bath salts add these to the bath. Have her bathrobe ready and waiting in the bathroom. Now you could also offer to give her a neck rub whilst she's in the bath or just after - again just make sure you don't burn that food!

Finally layout on the bed the clothes you would like her to wear over dinner. If you're unsure which to pick then layout three alternatives. Again this is all about you being thoughtful and telling her the outfits you think she looks most beautiful in.

Finally serve dinner, have a great laugh, have a few drinks and enjoy each others company. All of that can be done on as low as $10 to $20 and it will be a night she will never forget and always appreciate.

If you need love letter writing tips and/or romantic meal ideas I've included some resource links.

Best wishes

Suggestions for Contemporary Window Treatment for Palladian window.?

nonna_barb

I have 2 windows plus a door to my lanai in my 3rd floor FL master bedroom. One of the windows is a large Palladian window. I am totally stumped on what window treatments to use on the windows. I have beautiful water views that I want to be able to see. The only reason for a treatment is privacy in the evening and heat reduction in the summer. I do not need a covering for the door (plenty of privacy).

My decorator wants me to install 3" Plantation shutters. My furniture is a mix of antiques, including a canopy bed. Floor is porcelain tile and I will be hanging lots of original rather contemporary artwork.

I don't want the window to take over the room, plus I feel I need something softening due to hard flooring and mostly dark wood furniture (cherry, mahogany, pine, walnut, etc). I have allergies so I can't add area rugs or anything that will catch a lot of dust.

Does this sound impossible? I would love to hear ideas for unique window treatments.

Answer
The plantation shutters look like the best/most common solution, probably because it will work. Do the Shutters have to be dark wood? Could they be painted? Or Even Faux painted, they could even have a mural on the face that appears when they are closed, even a mural of the View out the window.
The link below was just a website that had alot of window treatments displayed.

We just built a second story addition to our home, which will be the bedrooms.there is no drywall there yet until we design something. does anyone know where i can get ideas ? we are looking for a contemporary look. ceiling designs with lots of lighting. something very unique. I cant seem to find any websites, and have a lot of books on interior designs. But somehow cant find anything :( room sizes are 20x22 . so we definitly have pleanty of space to do something nice with the ceilings. I appreciate any help.

Answer
how about a vaulted cieling... painting the inside a different color than the rest of the room... Our bedroom is painted a brown/gold color, and the cieling on the inside where its vaulted is painted a deep red color... then we have a beautiful chandelier in the middle. It gives the room alot of depth, and makes it look bigger, and the colors are warm and romantic!

What's an in-expensive, but sturdy, wood to use to build a bed?

Im building a queen size captains bed, and need ideas on what type of wood would be a good choice, that also wont bust my pocketbook.

Answer
The least expensive is pine, but it does not have to look it. Of course it can be painted any color. It can also be stained any shade. Minwax and several other companies make stains that will color it to look like many other woods, from darkening it ever so slightly to show the grain, to darking it to ebony. It is a softwood, and therefore will bow more than a hardwood, but it is much easier to work, and can be carved with chisels or with a Dremel tool.
Of hardwoods, maple and oak are fairly reasonable in price, and red oak in particular has a beautiful grain.
It is also possible to get hardwood plywoods (most plywood is pine) like birch, which I have a table made of about ten feet from where I am, that I made, and many people have liked it, and I do myself.
Most hardwoods, in my opinion, if the grain is selected carefully will not require a stain, but just a varnish.
I use wipe on polyurethane, which I apply with a cloth soaked in it. It seals the wood, darkens it slightly, and looks quite pretty. I put it on thin, so that you can still feel the grain (thick makes it plastic-y).
Use a circular saw with a fine toothed finish cut blade. Cover where you want to cut with masking tape, mark the tape, cut through it, and the edge will be smooth when the tape is removed.
Metal el brackets make the joints stronger, as do wooden dowels or "biscuits."
Pre-drilling holes keeps screws from splitting wood.
Good luck!

How to decorate a guest room with 2 dark brown walls and 2 hot pink walls?

bedroom accessories for teenage girls image

Tammy

My daughter just moved out of the house and her bedroom will now be used as a guest room. It was recently painted so we really don't want to paint it again but there are 2 walls that are chocolate brown and 2 wall are hot pink. The headboard of the bed and nightstand are white. How can I decorate this room without it feeling like a teenage girl's room?

Answer
Oh gosh...I don't usually kind of insist on painting if you don't want to, but I'm hoping I can talk you into painting the 2 pink walls, cause frankly, the pink walls & white furniture will be hard to overcome as an adult room. The white furniture we can work with. So we have to have a bedding set for inspiration. I found this one that has a white background to pull in the white furniture & overall lighten the room:

http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6E.aspx?GrpTyp=ENS&ItemID=1b6aff6&DeptID=82319&CatID=82321&SO=0&SelDim=1031%7e&x5view=1&NOffset=0&Ne=949+877+5+1031+1007+8+18&shopperType=G&N=4294932621+4294949521&Nao=42&PSO=0&CmCatId=82319|82321

The chocolate is in there & the print is a modern stylized Jacobean print. Soooooo...would you be willing to paint those 2 pink walls the rusty red in this bedding??? Take a sham to Sherwin Williams & also the name/number of the current pink (or a good picture of it). They will help you choose the best method of covering the pink with the red. Also, to make the room look bigger & sophisticated, paint the ceiling the color of the tan in the draperies & bedding. Again, SW can help you with this.

This is another choice you might like - just follow my same principles:

http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6E.aspx?Grptyp=ENS&ItemId=1b6b108&cmOrigId=1b6aff6&cmTypeFlag=RichRel&cmCatID=82319|82321

Do you have a ceiling fixture in the room??? Do you have nightstands??? (I hope so) Consider using a pair of these over the nightstands:

http://www.potterybarn.com/products/weston-arc-sconce/?pkey=cplug-in-sconces

And this as your ceiling fixture:

http://www.potterybarn.com/products/camilla-3-arm-chandelier/?pkey=cchandeliers

Lastly...wall decor. Use a LARGE print for impact like this:

http://www.art.com/products/p13877051-sa-i2762539/raymond-gehman-bare-branches-and-red-maple-leaves-growing-alongside-the-highway.htm?sorig=cat&sorigid=0&dimvals=23946&ui=8c23450a465c489baf2ec5f4b9233455

The larger & fewer the accessories the better.

I am having some issues with decorating my master bedroom. Help!?

Jackie W

I have a rather large space (17x17 ft) with a vaulted ceiling that angles up and creates a plant shelf above the door to the master bath. I would like some suggestions on what to do with this shelf area. It is about 12 ft long and 4 ft deep and is about 9 ft from the floor and is 5 ft tall. I would say that our style is "transitional" not too contemporary and not too traditional. Also I am having trouble with the color scheme. Our furniture is dark cherry, our bedding is khaki and creme striped and the carpet is beige. The walls are currently khaki and all of the neutrals are starting to get to me!! I would like to add some color but with such large walls I am afraid of being overwhelmed. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

Answer
i would probably fill the space above the door with a sculpture of some sort (try pier one or bombay company). i think that maybe some light grayish tones with hints of blue would look very nice on your walls to complement the contemporary side. otherwise you should go your local paint store and pick up some paint swatches or even some sample colors that you can actually paint on your wall to try.
this website provides some beautiful colors and ideas. for your situation i would suggest checking out the urban loft, whitewash and thoroughbred colors.

I need examples for decorating my new place!?

Ask a Heal

Are there some websites where I can see predesigned rooms, like show rooms or model rooms! I really cant stand to trust myself anymore! I cant match or mix match properly! My place is a two bedroom with living room, dining room, den and a kitchen, has two bathrooms with outside vanities and has two levels. The bottom level is mainly for my work while the small upstairs is just for me! Can yall and any ideas are great!!! Thanks

Answer
HGTV is a great resource. There are is a library of rooms and you can browse on-line (dining room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, office etc) by style (contemporary, modern, traditional, eclectic etc). It's great fun. I like to browse to get ideas for color combinations... and general styles. You can take ideas from a number of rooms and combine them into your own.

Another source is the library.. there are a variety of decorating books with tons of photos. Magazines like Better Homes and Gardens and Home Beautiful usually have a lot of photos. Also, I get many ideas from catalogs like Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel. You can request catalogs on their websites. Again, they are more of a resource for inspiration for style & color combinations. If you see a room you love - identify the elements that speak to you and 'plagerize' away. One of the most important things if you paint is good 'flow'. You want to avoid abrupt color changes where rooms come together. Find colors that work together. And that make you FEEL good. Color definitely affects your mood (chromatherapy) so when you find a color you like take notice of how it makes you feel. (This applies to being in real life spaces.. moreso that photos). There are many trendy diners, bookstores, cafes, spas and boutiques decorated in modern colors/styles so take notice of decor when you are out and about.

Above all - have fun! By all means don't be so hard on yourself about your choices!!! Maybe your tastes have changed over time a bit or maybe you've had a lot of hand-me-downs and never really developed your style. Whatever the case if you look for items that you love you will enjoy being in your home... and your home will be a reflection of you. And by all means don't be afraid to get rid of (donate) things that 'don't work' any longer... Good luck and post your photos out in HGTV when you're done :)

Any ideas on how to throw a cheap, but fun bachelorette party?

bedroom ideas for college girls image

dsafweaaaa

I am a poor college student who is lucky enough to be the maid of honor! I was wondering if anyone had some fun and cheap (key word there being cheap) ideas for throwing a bachelorette party? THANKS!

Answer
well, first of all you need to get the other bridesmaids involved- they should SPLIT the costs with you completely! Just because you're the maid of honor doesn't mean you have to pay for everything!
For inexpensive party- find a good location to have it at, cheapest would be someones house, find someone that is within walking distance to a few bars perhaps so you guys can go out for a few drinks. start off at the house with drinks and appetizers, play fun games, have good tunes on, make your own decorations and games instead of buying them from the store. either you purchase everything and divide up the cost and have the other girls pay you back, otherwise assign people different duties to be responsable for. go to the dollar store and get some martini glasses- one for each person attending- go to the craft store and pick up a paint pen and decorate each glass with the bride and grooms names and the date of the wedding around the glass- you can even write each guests name on the base of the glass and have it as the party favor and a way to keep drinks from getting mixed up! get a paint pen in either the wedding colors or pink is always good! make a special batch of martini mix in a large pitcher or cooler jug for the night also and give it a dirty name like "G spot martini" heres a list of recipes http://www.drinksmixer.com/search/?q=martini&d=1&p=1
I made my own penis cake mold- I shaped a large penis from a big piece of foam I got from the craft store (you want the hard foam) then I took heavy duty foil and wrapped it around the mold real good in a few layers, then remove the foam and flip the foil over to make a cake pan- fit extra foil around the bottom to make it sturdy- then just bake you cake mix as directed- let it cool completly before removing it from the mold and then frost in a flesh tone frosting using food coloring and white frosting and use chocolate jimmies on the balls like hair! looks really good and saves you like $60 from getting a penis mold from the store!
make a "Tree of Wisdom" for the party. you take a few large branches (go to the park and find some dead branches or something) and put them in a vase so it looks like a tree. then make either paper hearts or penis's out of constuction paper and attach a small wire so you can hang them all from the tree. then each guest will write down words of wisdom for the bride to be on them- penis make it naughty words of bedroom advice, hearts make it more heartfelt words of marriage advice! looks really neat as a centerpiece also. another fun game is "stick it in" have one girl holding a broom stick between her knees and another girl blindfolded with a roll of toilet paper between her knees then the girl with the toilet paper tries to get it around the broom stick. make up triva questions about the happy couple or maybe just the bride, a word scramble you can do on your own also- just mix up a bunch of fun bacholorette type words. you can make up truth or dare cards as a fun game during the night also- you can even take them with you to the bars for even more dare laughs. pick up a few prizes from the dollar store to give to game winners like travel mugs, candles, or whatever you find that you know you would like to recieve as a prize- stay away from lotions and crap- we all have enough of that stuff right?!

a night camping with a few girls would be super fun too!
Hope all goes well- email if you have any questions- I am happy to help!

What do you think about a hollister or abercromble themed bedroom?

Lucy Diamo

I Love that stores and my parents had decided for a room refreshing and told me to choose a theme bedroom, so i think about my favourite stores! what do you think!? they sounds good or try somethink else!?

Answer
I wouldn't say so. I mean, even if you wouldn't get tired of it all through high school, do you really think when you go back to visit from college that you're going to want to stay in a dark, loud room? Your room should be somewhere you can go and relax, do homework and hang out with friends. I just think if you tried to model your room after the store, it wouldn't turn out very well and would be too dark. You know what I mean? Plus, what color would you paint your walls? You would have to do either a brown or navy, and I just think that's too harsh to paint on all four walls.

I mean, you have a cool concept, but when you think about the finished product...I just don't know how it would turn out. I think a bedroom should have a fun, bright theme to it :) I recently re-did my room, and I did lime green, black, and white. I think hot pink, black, and white can also look really cool too. Or even pink and orange, blue and green, or any other color combinations you like. Check out this website:
http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Girls-Rooms/gallery.esi?page=1

People put on pictures of their rooms, and it can give you some cool ideas. :) Also, you could try to find a comforter you like and center the room around that. Definitely check out:
http://www.pbteen.com/

Some of their stuff can be pretty expensive, but it just depends on what you want to spend. If that stuff is too much, check out JC Penny's, Macy's, or even Amazon's websites. :) If you look at JC Penny, and I think Macy's, they have Seventeen comforters, and they're all really cute! My old comforter was from JC Penny's, and it was Seventeen. They usually have some really cute designs. :)

Hope that helps!

How to make your home look more "homey" without spending a fortune?

Q. Hey everyone! I just got married a couple months ago and my husband has been in California for a little over a month (hes a marine) He comes back in a few days and I am so excited... but I want to do something that makes our home look a little more...like a home...if you know what I mean. But I don't want to have to spend a lot of money. I just bought a new living room suit. Any ideas??? Thanks.

Answer
This project will be fun because you can find all kinds of things without spending a lot.

First, think of pillows, cushy ones. Our local Chinatown had beautiful pillow shams on sale like 2 for $10.

Then look around for some favorite photos and have them enlarged and buy inexpensive frames from Ross for Less or Costco. Think about painting something like one wall.

Buy fresh flowers from Farmers' Markets or a store like Albertsons where they good prices. Don't leave out the house plants. Instead of buying expensive vases for your plants, use odd items.

Lucky Bamboo is great because it requires dim or no light at all to thrive.

Stores usually have a department where they put below price merchandise. Check there for rugs and such.

When I was hosting the Superbowl Party, I was kind of broke but the house needed sprucing up. I looked around and picked out a couple of things I could do to add some pizzazz. Lucky me, all I had to do was change out plastic lightplate switches and change them to brass. Then I determined it was a good time to change the cheap doorknobs on the bedroom doors so I bought matching brass knobs. Easy, easy and cheap!

I found some really colorful throw rugs for the bath and kitchen at Anna's Linens and things.

The dollar store had nice candles and odds and ends that worked well.

One other thing you can do is find colorful or earthtoned heavy fabric to throw around on the sofa and chairs.

How should I decorate my bedroom?

I'm a sixteen y/o girl :) I know for a fact that the walls will be hot pink & the trim will be white (the ceiling is also going to be white) I have hardwood floors in my room also, but I have no idea how I want to decorate it? my friends were suggesting pink ideas like my room being cheetah & pink, floral delicate pink, or rainbow. it's such a hard decision to make I don't know what to chose D: if you have any pictures or suggestions that'd be great! thanks! Pink, white and cheetah are great together,
you could add turquoise as an accent color.

I am moving at the end of the month and I get to do my room over, I love the color purple and would like to paint my walls that color but I need some ideas what could I put on the wall. I'm putting some pictures up of my friends and family and hopefully white Christmas lights. If you have any ideas please let me know! Thanks.

Answer
purple is a great color but you want a bright purple verses a dark purple

I think I would put some paint clip colors on the wall and you could look at different colors in the light and dark...you can get the free color paint strips at lowes or home depot..on of them have the Disney colors which give you the accent colors and that makes it easy

you need a wall color and then I would keep the ceiling and baseboards white to not close in the room

less is best, so it is clean

enlarged photos 8x10 framed in black and using black as an accent color would look sharp mature and perfect in any décor color later

but pets and family and friends all could be a wall

a wall with framed certificates you earned

no poster they make the room look cheap

a bed a night stand and lamp and desk and extra lighting..

around the desk a memo board and calendar...

no dresser they take up to much space and hold junk..hang everything in the closet and use baskets on a shelf..

a fake ficus tree with little lights and a timer work well for always having lights on when you come in at dark

a starburst chain is fun to make and looks cool draped on the tree or around your room

origami balloons over the lights

Does anyone have any pictures or ideas for a techno-style bedroom?

adagio_75

My 15 year old sister-in-law wants to change her bedroom design from a mostly leopard print theme to techno. I want to help her but I really don't know what techno design for a room would look like. She doesn't have alot of money to completely refurnish the room so items like her leopard print area rug, leopard print lamp shades and picture frames will have to be used. Any ideas or pictures would be great.

Answer
When I think of a techno style bedroom I think of lots of fun bright cheery colors with nice white sleek backdrop. For a techno styled bedroom; you could do a modern look. Go for clean, straight lines if possible. I would go for a white or neutral backdrop with pops of color. If some new furniture pieces are in your budget look for white furniture (bed frame, dresser, desk, nightstand)or you can repurpose old furniture and paint it white. For accessories look for bright colors like orange (for a lamp; can’t afford a new lamp you can take an existing lamp, sand it down and spray paint it in an high gloss orange (or whatever bright colors she likes), yellow (picture frames, pillows), and green (pillows, vases for flowers, etc.). If she doesn’t like those colors, you can do any color combo that she will like. You can find a cheap/good looking area rug @ Wal-mart in white, but if you don’t look for white (or another color) bath rugs and connect them together with carpet tape to make a large area rug. You can also change out the lamp shades for a cheap cost or you can cover existing lamp shades with fabric to match the new room décor. For the walls you can blow up her favorite DJ album covers and frame them; or you can get vector silhouettes of DJ’s like this : http://garcya.us/blog/free-dj-vector-graphic-art/ or http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/2286211/2/istockphoto_2286211_dj_at_turntable or http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/4306917/2/istockphoto_4306917_dj_silhouette.jpg or http://www.smashingmagazine.com/images/iconsnew/bittbox.jpg http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/5671904/2/istockphoto_5671904_beach_party.jpg or images like these and have them blown up to put them on the walls. You can also blow up varying silhouettes of dancers and put them on the wall (http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/5753237/2/istockphoto_5753237_spring_girl.jpg http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/5768186/2/istockphoto_5768186_just_wanna_have ). Also music notes and headphones (http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/5481959/2/istockphoto_5481959_grunge_headphones.jpg http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/5802696/2/istockphoto_5802696_headphones.jpg http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/5881226/2/istockphoto_5881226_hand_drawn_musik_retro.jpg would be a cool option also. For bedding you can do something simple like white with a bright colored throw and pillows or bright colored bedding with white pillows and one bright colored accent pillow. Also for bedding you can do bedding in a fun solid color and do an image transfer of her favorite DJ or techno image. Hope this gives you a few ideas, good luck :)

Who is the company in the commercial where girl's bedroom changes design?

I am looking for a TV commercial where a girl's bedroom changes it's design multiple times, ultimately ending with a dark purple and black setting with a fireplace. I believe she is laying on her bed, while her friend is sitting at a desk or a makeup desk in front of her. The bedroom changes it's design to fit with your personal style. May be Pier 1 or Ikea? Target? Does anyone remember this commercial?

What do you think about my bedroom design?

Female Use

Im going to paint the walls in my room, and i wad thinking about getting black and red stripes going downwards, im thinking each stripe would be 5 inches wide, does it sound nice? Im a girl but i wouldnt want it to be too girly or too boyish, does it sound nice?

Answer
maybe test that out on paper with pen and markers, to see if appears ok with the rest of room decor, you may have to paint tho whole room red, dry, and then us masking top to make lines for black and paint, use green painters tape if you do, maybe see if local store has wallpaper

How should I decorate my little girl's bedroom?

bedroom ideas for 2 little girls image

Sophie Ier

I am needing decoration idea's for my little girl's room. In 4 months I will be giving birth to another girl and they will be sharing rooms. I need it to be suitable both for my unborn baby and my 2 year old. Serious answers only please.

Answer
Hi Sophie,
Congratulation on the upcoming birth of your 2nd daughter! Because your girls are close in age the decorating theme you choose will work for both. The colors that work well in girls rooms are Pink White and Green. The themes oh, are so many to choose from. You could design the room in Tinkerbell, little Princesses theme or Garden themes with all butterflies and flowers or Winnie the Pooh and so on. Space is always a thought, and how best to utilize it is a common concern. If your daughter(s) room is square I would suggest that two walls have one daughters area of bed bureau etc, and the next two walls have baby's things crib, changing table and so forth. Keeping the center space open of the room for your 2 year old to play. Happy Decorating!

How do I keep my cat from using our bed as his own personal trampoline?

Jasmine

Our cat will run through the bedroom, pounce on the bed, and use it as a spring board to jump in the air and run out of the room again. We get no warning. We just get the full weight of his little kitty body pouncing on us in the middle of the night.

Now, my guy is pretty big. He's over twice the size of my little girl kitty and he's all muscle.

How can I keep him from doing this? I can shut the door but he will spend the next 2-3 hours pawing at it till it opens.

Any ideas?

Answer
My large cat does that too. AND he paws at the door if its shut. So I put a shoe behind the door to make the door open just enough for them to fit through. That helps because when they start running in it slows them down.

We also have 2 cat trees(I rubbed cat nip on the trees for them) and a basket full of toys in the living room, that's their area now and they know it. So they stay away from our room and would rather playing in the living room, but every once in awhile, 2 cats will get riled up and come running through.

Good Luck Hope I helped

What can I do to make our first thanksgiving special?

beautiful traditional bedroom ideas image
Q. This thanksgiving is my girlfriend's first thanksgiving. We rented a suite with a fireplace and a nice nice kitchen. But I want to make it special. Any meal ideas? gift ideas? anything?

Answer
For Thanksgiving, have Turkey if you can. You might want to buy & cook just a turkey breast or a rolled turkey. These are smaller. You can buy stuffing at the store that you just have to add liquid to (recipe on box/pkg.)Open a can of chicken gravy & one of cranberry sauce. You may want some kind of veg. too but you can either have a canned veg. or make a salad. Finish with pie a bit later if you like. Or you can order a Thanksgiving meal for 2 to go at almost any restaurant, pick it up the night before, follow the written instructions that come with it to heat up. Be sure to have a tablecloth on the table & 2 candles. You can purchase them at a dollar store but have them. Use either cloth or paper napkins but get the good ones if paper. Your table can be in the bedroom if that is the only place you have or on tv trays but you still need to use a cloth & napkins if you want it to be special. ! beautiful flower in a vase doesn't hurt either. It is not traditional to give a gift for Thanksgiving but if you want to, make it a sm. token gift of some sort unless you're planning to propose, then of course, you'd give her a ring. Have fun & good luck. Sure hope this helps.

How to have a relaxing, beach theme room?

Kenzie

I want to know how to have a relaxing room for my new house? Please give me some ideas!

Answer
This room is amazing, fresh and relaxing :http://www.dana-home.com/beach-bedroom-design-and-modern-ideas/beach-bedroom-design-3/
http://www.designerliving.com/Harbor-House-Beach-House-Comforter-Set-Natural-Full-P10484.aspx?utm_source=shopzilla&utm_medium=CSE&utm_Campaign=Feed20110401

Whites and blues are traditional beach colors. These two examples are a bit different.
Use a lot of whites and add texture in the room.Have beautiful glass jars filled with shells or star fish .
For simple artwork, there are a few more posters like these at all posters.Frame them and hang them on the walls :http://www.allposters.com/-sp/Sea-Fan-Posters_i2687240_.htm

Add fresh plants and have enough lighting.
Enjoy decorating .

Thanks fot your answers. We will only be in this house for about 1 year.

Answer
Beautiful, but a little young. I don't think she'll like these same things as she gets a little older. Come her 16th Birthday, I think they'll feel a little too young for her. Take some of the key pieces, and then switch out some of the other stuff with more simple designs so they can grow up with her. Or, if you're up to it... you can always do this now and buy a whole new set when and if her tastes change. You can always sell these items to put towards new stuff.

Good Christmas gift for 9-10 year old girls, maybe a bedroom accesory?

bedroom decor for tween girls

bedroom decor for tween girls image

Boz

I need to find a gift for 9-10 year old girls, they are the last on my shopping list and I'm stuck, I would really like to wrap it up this week, online instead of hitting the over packed malls and stores, but willing to do so if that's what it takes..

They are into all the tween stuff, One Direction , Bieber, twilight and all Disney stars, anything to do with that would be great, and maybe if anything falls into a bedroom accessory, wall decor, game , lamp clock radio...as they have just recently got their own independent rooms for the first time.

If anyone can pint me in the right direction or give me ideas, you will make my week and have some good karma coming back, it doesn't have to be any of those interests I mentioned any other good idea will work as well..oh yeah between the $25-$50 range each..

Thanks!!!

Answer
Ok, posters and stuff is awesome, but if you want to be more creative, get them Klutz activity sets. They are like 20 bucks a set and REALLY fun. I loved them when I was 10. You can find them at Barnes and Nobles and other book stores.

Also, I know I've always wanted fairy lights in my room, like across my headboard and stuff. Thats a cool idea. Though theyll need help installing it...

Maybe you can get them one direction dolls? haha not too sure if they'd like that

Also, If they havent bought it already, get them One direction's/ justin biebers latest album.

It may be best to get them two of the same girts so their isnt any fighting

what would be good bedroom décor for a mature 14-17 year old girl?

How do i create a Greek themed bedroom?

beautiful ideas for a bedroom image

F@$H!#N

How would i go about creating a greek themed bedroom. I was thinking either beach-y or mythological.

1. What colors do i use?
2. What do i put in the room to make it feel like Greece?

Thanks :D
Please provide links and pictures. Thank You!

Answer
Well the colours that I associate with greece is Blue and white, not only because of the flag but from the fact that a lot of the buildings are painted white with a bluRIroof.
http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.theodora.com/wfb/photos/greece/greece3.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.theodora.com/wfb/photos/greece/greece_photos_02.html&usg=__KFkZhqgTjNAhKgm5fFoqxviI1QM=&h=525&w=700&sz=80&hl=en&start=3&um=1&tbnid=y3S-hPgbZITobM:&tbnh=105&tbnw=140&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dgreece%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1T4SNYK_en-GBGB270GB271%26um%3D1
Like that :)

I wouls say that a good Idea is to paint 3 walls in white and one feautre wall that beautiful blue colour :)
Also I would say get large(ish) pictures/posters of greece, I know that places print canvases with your choice of photo so maybe you could even use one of your own or maybe some of the buildings, beach or the historical aspects e.g. acropolis.

Another colour I tihnk would be nice to mix in is gold as gold and white to me adds to the greek goddess type feel, I would say get white gurtains made out of a thin material and if you have enough space in your room get them longer so that they 'puddle' at the bottom. Also tie them back with some gold ribbon making sure the draping at the windows look good.
For other room accessories I would say just use nice blue and gold things, maybe a white bedcover with blue and gold cushions or throws, maybe even if you could get hold of some greek flag pillows. Also if you have a canopy bed that would be perfect and use a simillar idea to the curtains e.g. drape sort of like this http://images.hayneedle.com/mgen/master:HOOK454.jpg

For things such as desks or bedside tables you can try and get hold of plaster pillars and add a glass top to them as this would really complete the theme.
Ohh and you can find your name in greek and paint it on your blue wall in white paint :)

What are some nice colors for my bedroom?

CottonCand

Hi(:
Im a teen girl and im redecorating my room. I need some ideas on what color i can paint my room.
I like pastel colors!
i also like neons, just nothing dark
Right now my room is green, so i would like to stay away from the greens for awhile.

Answer
When I was about 15, I painted my room this color, "Sunset Yellow" and it was like a lighter version of dijon mustard. It turned out so beautiful. I decorated the rest of my room to have a very light, tuscan feel. But, if I changed my mind (as I often did) and decided I wanted something different, the yellow would match. I miss that room. It was the coolest color I've ever had in a room. Also, a robin's egg blue is cool, but it's very touchy getting just the right tone. And green is VERY touchy. The room color I'm looking forward to, though, is blood red. It's bold, daring, adventurous, the decor options are endless, and it can be lighthearted with a bold front, or deep and dark, with blacks and metals. Anyways, these are my four cents. : ) Have fun. Paint is great!

Edit: Oh, by the way!!! Something I've wanted to do for awhile in my kids' rooms is this: paint top half color of choice (for them a burnt orange), and bottom half (kind of spendy, but) black chalkboard paint. Then you draw whatever you like on the chalkboard as you like, or leave it blank. . . I think it's a great fun idea.

Well if you go on facebook and look up this certain person but i can't give you a link to his account because it's private to strangers. Anyways his pictures are totally fake i can even look them up on google. He took pictures of his house and it was like a purple girl room and it didn't even look like he took the photo. I'll give the link at the bottom of the photo i mean average people don't take photos that good. And his profile pictures are fake too. There like pictures of emo guys and his friends are like "is that you?" And then the faker put "yes it is". I'm not trying to do any harm or anything i just don't like that people are being lied to.

Answer
A clan called Vv3 is doing that to a friend of mine now. They keep making a fake FB profile. Just flag their page and let the problem sort itself out. You can keep flagging all day, he'll eventually run out of emails to sign up with.

ok my 15 yr old is sitting here telling me to let you know that:
15 year old looking to change up her bedroom?

Posters will work, or how about taking lots of pictures of yourself and your friends and put them on the wall.

She just had the SAME problem. We live in a rental..so drastic paiting is OUT for us . what she just did was she went to the dollar store and buy a bunch of frames. put pics of ur friends and fam. She is totally into black and white and pink .maybe put some posters up of celebrities, animals . She just
bought a black rug..She has NO carpet in her room. i got black and white frames...and a black mesh cover to go over my closet. And pink mesh to go over her bed. i got a white bed cover..with a lot of black and white and pink pillows. it looks soooo SWEET! the good thing is with black and white..you can add little splashes of color in..like she added a pink tee light candle holder. well.ur 15... around her ageTry coverring your ceiling.. maybe some black fabric that you paint designs on. or a collection of bandana's (hankies) you can find really cool ones with skulls and flames. or start a collection from Hot Topic. For your walls, posters are a classic, but maybe hit a thrift store and find old cd covers and frame a bunch of them.

Some of the sticker machines have some really fun bumper stickers and such. again frame them in large poster frames (so you aren't messing up the walls with holes or stickers)
She bough peg board to fit one wall so she can hang photos, posters and miscellanous items on without messing the wall up.
As for your bed you can get slates of wood, ask your dad for the correct size, then build a base for the bed, your bed is still close to the floor, but mattress not on it.
Have fun and use things that you love!

bedroom decorating games for girls only image

it's just

I'm tight on cash, struggle with depression and have injuries in both feet. So summer camps are out, things that take a lot of energy to plan won't happen and I can't play physically with them until I heal. I want them to still have fun though. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

They are girls, ages 10 and 5.

Answer
Why don't you put up a tent in the living room! or get the girls to decorate a bedroom as tho it was a tent! i love that idea! im going to do that with my 7 year old daughter. Have lots of pillows, sleeping bags.. you all sleep in there! it's mad! Play games! make some home made pizzas (just use english muffins as the base) Get the girls to put on their Fav. toppings. Tell them stories. I think it's a great way to have fun and not pay much at all!

Any ideas on how to throw a cheap, but fun bachelorette party?

How can I hang a knitted quilt in my daughter's bedroom?

My daughter got a beautiful hand knitted quilt from my aunt when she was a baby I have been cherishing the quilt and now that she is six and with her own bedroom I would love to hang it on the wall. The quilt is knitted and very delicate since it can get torn easily, it is also white and gets dirty very fast, but it is beautiful. I would hate having it in storage for more time. Any ideas?

Answer
Because of the naure of knitting, it cannot be hung. Try a shadow box. Put some toys in with it, and it will stay looking great for years.

How Can I do an ocean theme master bedroom on a budget?

Forever Mi

We are planning on redesigning our master bedroom with an ocean/lake theme.
The walls for sure are going to be teal and white stripes with white trim.
We also plan on getting some shelves to put up, to put some little knik-knacks on.

The bed is oak and the bedding is navy on one side and baby blue on the other. We also have a black black-out curtain, so we can sleep in.

anything else we can do?

Answer
Wall murals are one of my favorite bedroom design ideas as it's a very inexpensive way to create your own fantasy island. You can find them as wide as 10.5 feet and 8 feet tall. Here's a couple links with teal colored water. Also consider smaller murals with portholes for windows or windows that look out onto water.

Another idea would be to hang a canopy over the bed made out of cotton duck or sail cloth. It could be attached to a wooden dowel and hung from the ceiling with rope. You may find a bargain this time of year on an outdoor canopy that can be hung in a wave like pattern, going from high to low to simulate sails or rolling waves.

If you have enough room why not use a beautiful outdoor lounge chair to go with your ocean theme. Think cruise ship luxury. Consignment shops may have some really cool old looking ones too for next to nothing.

Also, look for nautical lamps or light fixtures, again consignment shops are a great place to scout out bargains.
