How to design a beautiful teenage bedroom for a girl?

Q. I am now 18, and I want a new bedroom.
Can somebody tell me how to design a beautiful teenage bedroom for a girl?

Answer
First, you have to decide what kind of themes you like. Think of something like; fresh, or beach, or gothic, or anything.

Then you can start to pick elements that represent it, such as: colour, materials, ornaments, etc.

Pick those elements that suits your needs and the themes. You can make a contrast by each of the elements, but you don't want to have more than 3.

Example: If you want your theme to be fresh, then you want to start gathering colour elements, you can have like pale blue, coral blue, and one as contrast of navy blue. But you don't want to add one more colour like pink, because it makes harder for those element to get united.

Take your time and start exploring your ideas.

Teenage girl bedroom designs?

Q. okay. so I'm moving soon. like tommarrow! Yeah. And I'm freaking out. I still haven't decided how I want my bedroom. I'm a 15 year old girl. I've had a few ideas but I still really can't decide on what I want.

1st idea was cream walls, black trim and border. we have dark wood floors. a black shaggy rug. King sized bed. above my bed would paint a black dream catcher. maybe throw in a white vanity table, with some white side tables and a canopy?

2nd idea was 2 walls would be either pink or like a purplish color. the other two walls would be a grey. and paint a chandelier on the wall instead of a dreamcatcher? An get a white shaggy rug instead of balck. keep the white vanity table and white shelfs.

3rd idea was like a fairytale bedroom. pale pink walls. silver canopy. silver bed frame. Silver Lacey curtains. glittery silver bedskirt. ?? still not too sure about this one. still trying to think about all the details.

soo what do you think? what ideas do you like the best? or do you have any other ideas? Please. Anything is helpful (:

Thanks in advance,
Carson

Answer
Well there Carson, I'm 15 as well and I LOVE to interior design, especially bedrooms, teens, you know, so anyways...It sounds to me like you like pink, but don't wanna go all out pink...so...If you were to go with a lighter shade of grey for the walls, and a black border, then a paler, but not too pale pink for the bed spread, comforter, or whatever and take black and make a beautiful like oldish looking, but you know those pretty trees they have on a lot of graphic tees, and paint that above your bed...then go with a white shaggy rug, black would work just as well....could go with a white or black shelves and vanity, but do you see the theme I'm workin at here....a couple really textureful pillows and.......walla, you will have created a master piece!!! :D I hope everything works out for you!!! And hope this helped!!! Im glad I got to help give design advice....Ohhh...and always go with your gut, while designing something, it never hurts to try cause it can always be changed....Thanks for asking for help...I enjoyed helping someone who I would now consider a friend!!! :) And let me know how everything works out for ya! Bedroom design help!?

Q. Im trying to figure out the best way to redecorate my bedroom. Im a full time student and am stuck at home with my parents for the time being and I want my room to represent a 21 year old women, not a 14 year old girl. My biggest problem is that harry potters bedroom under the stairs is bigger than mine. I know I want to paint it red and cream and incorporate music and Paris. Thanks for all the advice, its greatly appreciated!

Answer
Make a mood board of images that inspire you - could be pictures you've found of bedrooms you love, products you like or even pics of your own stuff. Put them all together and search for products that look good together.

You can have fun creating your moodboard online - try this http://mydeco.com/design/ (click on 'create a moodboard' to get started). Or browse all the bedroom designs for ideas. Good luck!

If your parents let you covering walls in posters and pictures from magazines is always fun and looks good!
I am 17 and I have decorated my room over time with things I find around that I love I was kind of aiming for a bedroom like Juno's in the movie 'Juno' but its ended up different as it evolved with my own personal style its now a collection of things I love!

Here are some photos of Juno's room:

If you are the complete opposite in what you like in bedroom designs, you could look at ones like Miley Cyrus'

What are original ideas for decorating a teenage girl's bedroom?

malorie m

I'm a 13 year old girl interested in art and music and I need to redecorate my room. It is all pink and little-kid-ish and I'm sick of it. I have a friend who put Christmas lights around the top of her room and I was kind of going for that original style. Any ideas?

Answer
Hello There,

We all like a nice peaceful retreat and definitely our bedroom is one of those places. I have a 13 year old and we redid her room when she was 12 (last year).

1. We painted her room with silver blue and white (Behr satin finish). Two walls blue, two walls white.

2. We then chose two paintings (from Marshalls) One was a blue hues ocean scene with waves with a white finish frame and the other was a blue painted frame of teenagers playing in the water by the ocean side. It has more light to it. We placed that on the blue wall. We also added a silver oval framed mirror and and rectangular family picture collage frame.

If you really want a string of lights you can hang it along the window.

3. Her bedding is a mixture of different shades of blue, yellow and fuchcia. It is a very peaceful room..

4.We also put a small microwave kitchen cart in her room where she has a terrarium with seashells sitting on top of it. The shelves hold her school supplies. . You can find this at the resource below.

I wish I could show you a picture but it is truly a retreat for her.

This is not an expensive makeover. Follow what we did and choose your own colors. Walmart, Target and Marshalls are all great stores.Discuss it with your parents and
email me if you have any questions.

Happy decorating,

Romona

Bedroom(teenage girl) ideas?

April

I'm not looking at a complete overhaul or anything just a couple accents to go with it.
I have 2 woodstock posters, 1 vintage anti-nuke poster(framed), 2 pkgs of vintage anti-nuke postage framed, a vintage lamp with a small sun on the...uh..stem?, my own art on canvases(I use muted tones and watercolour or vibrant tones and grotesque imagery), my bedspread is floral and my pillows are paisley, I have a TV on an old vintage school desk with a handmade floral table cloth, an easel, a wooden trunk, a wooden captains bed, a vinyl beanbag chair, 2 wooden bookcases, a record player, floral speakers and a wooden night-stand.
My walls are light purple with dark purple edging(that I hate, I was 11 when I picked it), the carpet is grey, and all my furniture is vintage or handmade wooden stuff(with the exception of my easel).
I want ideas for little details to add? Also I'd like to know where to find Rocky Horror Picture Show decorations/furniture?
Oh! I forgot I have a massive Pink Floyd's The Wall poster.

Answer
I am 18 years old, and I have furniture in my bedroom that is worth about $6000, all antiques, decorations are valuable, some very old, it is all up to you. I enjoy antiques, decorations that are nice, religious, or have to do with the environment, such as having flowers on it. It is up to you!

Can anyone recommend some good baby/toddler magazines?

Q. Magazines that have cute girl clothes, toys, room decorations and furniture. Any magazines with a fairy or princess theme for toddler bedrooms. Thanks in advance :)

Answer
Pottery Barn Baby and or Pottery Barn Kids have very cute decor for her room. Toys R Us has a lot of toys and lots of toddler girls like Care Bears and Corolle Dolls. Baby Gap makes very cute clothes, as does Jamboree. Also your local target sells lots of very cute little girl clothes.

Nursery/Room Decor for boy & girl...?

Q. I'm getting more and more excited as my pregnancy continues. I know I'm only 8-9 weeks, but I'm going to have so much to do before the new baby gets here.

My husband, daughter, and I live in a two bedroom house. My husband and I have a room, and my daughter is in the other. Right now her room is a cream color on top and a honey color wood from mid wall to floor. Her room is decorated in a pink, purple, and green ladybug and flowers theme. All of her furniture is honey colored wood.

She and the new baby will have to share this room. I will eventually be moving her to a toddler bed and have the crib for the new baby. (I plan to put the new baby in a bassinet in my room to begin with).

If this baby is a girl, then I will have no problems in decorating. Just more pink will be fine. But what if its a boy? Any ideas on decor for a shared room for a boy and girl.

I was thinking maybe a farm theme? Maybe give her cow print bedding or something with a little pink, and can use the farm for a boy?

Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Building on is not an option right now, but may be later...

Answer
The farm thing sounds cute - anything animal related, forest, rain forest, frogs etc . . . is good for a co-ed room.

I have boy/girl twins in the same room. We have Winnie-the-Pooh - my daughter's stuff is classic Pooh and my son has the Disney Pooh. The walls are a bluish-purple and they have medium-brown wood furniture.

Congrats!

Cute bedroom ideas????????

margie

Hi, im redoing my bedroom, and i need some help!! I do have a few ideas, but i would love to hear some from you!! I love girly, cute, boho things. thanks ;) <3

Answer
Looking for fresh design ideas for pretentious and stylish teenage girls? In this post we will try to give a hand. For today weâve gathered together a set of 25 pictures which represent young girlsâ rooms. We tried to do a various selection: we went with some serious and sober interiors, but we also gave a shot to the familiar and very popular pink, orange and red arrangements. All of the rooms are practical, featuring working spaces, small bookcases or shelving systems for books and Cds and beautiful cabinets especially designed for teenage girls. Last but not least, we consider the mirror to be a mandatory item in any girlâs bedroom, so in some of the photos below you will notice they have a special status. Even though not all the room design ideas have a particular theme, the decorating elements are very well interconnected creating interiors that are both functional and aesthetic.

Ideas for a teenaged girls bedroom?

Q. I am 13 and cannot find any room stuff I like and I am really picky about it. All the room stuff I find it is either too babyish or too adult.

Answer
I think the best way to start is to find a comforter set that you really like and choose a paint color from it. Since I don't know your tastes or your favorite colors, I'll show you some that I like. Hope you do too!
I like this one with pink or mocha colored walls:
http://www.target.com/16-pc-Bed-Bag-Shiraz/dp/B000ROD6PA/qid=1212357527/ref=br_1_15/601-4735504-3606564?ie=UTF8&node=13160471&frombrowse=1&rh=&page=1
Paint the room blue and use this:
http://www.target.com/Thrift-Shop-Hippie-Chick-Bedding/dp/B000CD1LNU/qid=1212357607/ref=br_1_47/601-4735504-3606564?ie=UTF8&node=13160471&frombrowse=1&pricerange=&index=tgt-mf-mv&field-browse=13160471&rank=pmrank&rh=&page=1
This one is kinda cool too:
http://www.target.com/Wild-Inspirations-Bedding-Collection/dp/B000PXVM8G/qid=1212357688/ref=br_1_16/601-4735504-3606564?ie=UTF8&node=162287011&frombrowse=1&pricerange=&index=tgt-mf-mv&field-browse=162287011&rank=pmrank&rh=&page=2
I love this one but it might look too adult for you:
(with pink or brown walls)
http://www.target.com/Tropical-Bedding-Collection-Hibiscus/dp/B000UC1ADY/qid=1212357782/ref=br_1_4/601-4735504-3606564?ie=UTF8&node=162287011&frombrowse=1&pricerange=&index=tgt-mf-mv&field-browse=162287011&rank=pmrank&rh=&page=6
Another of my favorites with lavender or periwinkle paint:
http://www.target.com/Bedding-Collection-Aqua/dp/B000PH0DGE/qid=1212357836/ref=br_1_8/601-4735504-3606564?ie=UTF8&node=162287011&frombrowse=1&pricerange=&index=tgt-mf-mv&field-browse=162287011&rank=pmrank&rh=&page=6
This one is unique if you like these colors:
http://www.target.com/Purple-Floral-Bedding-Collection/dp/B00182BXGY/qid=1212357884/ref=br_1_3/601-4735504-3606564?ie=UTF8&node=162287011&frombrowse=1&pricerange=&index=tgt-mf-mv&field-browse=162287011&rank=pmrank&rh=&page=7
These two have lots of walls colors to choose from:
http://www.domestications.com/Products/Bed+in+a+Bag+reg+Sets/Jenna+Bed+in+a+Bag+/10000/10108/D13417x/R/13417B

You could also go with a black and white theme and add pops of color (lime, orange, hot pink) in pillows and accents:
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4697954
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4697952
This would look good with lavender walls:
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5038648
This would look calm and restful with light aqua walls:
http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_999000VP10960011P?vName=Bed+%26+Bath&cName=Bedding&sName=Bed-in-a-Bag
After you choose a comforter you like and paint the walls, then choose some long sheer curtains that compliment it. I like when the curtains blend into the walls instead of standing out, but that's a personal thing. Don't buy everything at once or it will look too "matchy-matchy" and predictable. Find an old thrift store chair and paint it an accent color (like a bright purple, lime or red) to sit in the corner of your room. String lights on a big tree or around the window for instant romance and be sure to have beautiful lamps on the night tables. Find a small accent rug to put near your bed and a throw blanket to add more color. Take your time and eventually you'll have the room of your dreams.

DIY bedroom ideas for a teenage girl?

Q. So, I might be moving into a new house soon (I hope we get it!) and my room would be the attic. Its practically two rooms. The first room opens to the second, which will be the bedroom. Both rooms are mine and, since they aren't separated, I'd like them to complement each other. I am a teenage girl (not obsessed with pink, but I like it) and I like bright colors. Any paint ideas? Also, what are some diy room accessories I can do? Like, cloud lights and canvas art. All suggestions are welcome.

Answer
That sounds like a great space! There are so many things you could do. Maybe you could do two tones of the same color? Like a light, airy pink for one room and a deeper shade for the other. Think about the use of the rooms too. If you are sleeping on one side and then using the other side for homework you could paint the bedroom half in a more serene color and the side with your desk a brighter, more energetic color.

The Perfect Palette is a great site for color inspiration: http://www.theperfectpalette.com/

Ideas for a teenage girls bedroom?

Q. I am just about to move into a new house in london and it is much larger than any i have had before. I want to make it really special and am having a double bed. I need to stick to pastel colours and i was thinking of a kind of oldfashioned style but not really sure. Do not want pink!! thanks :)))

Answer
Have you ever gone to a friend's house with a group of friends and everyone is commenting on their room. Then, when they go to your house, you get no comment? If this applies to you, or even if it doesn't, this article will give you the room of your dreams!

1. Pick a theme for your bedroom. To do this, think about your interests? Are you a sporty girl? Try a room with the theme of your favorite sport.
2. If you are not happy with the color of the wall, ask permission to change it. If you know your parents will not allow it, change the bedspread to match it so it wont look so bad. You could also consider wall paper.
3. Clean your bedroom. Yes, just do it. It makes the bedroom look 10 times better. Spend the day taking out stuff you don't want out of your room. Make 4 boxes: Donate, Trash, Recycle, and Keep. Then, start cleaning! Go through your closet, desk, and underneath the bed and clean out everything you don't want.
4. Once the room is clean, stand back and take a look. What is it that makes your room look bad? Is it your bedspread? Substitute that with a blanket or quilt until you can obtain a new one. Is it the hello kitty lamp? you don't need a lamp in there, so put it in the Donate bucket.
5. Get a bulletin board and put pictures of your friends and family on it. Make a collage on the computer of all the things that are important to you such as favorite stores, logo, family, friends, pets, etc.
6. Obtain a really comfy chair that you can sit in and relax. Try to match it with the room theme.
7. Try getting a glass desk if you have a small room because since it is glass, it will be see through so it won't look as bulky. Just a smaller desk would be another option, though. Get a computer chair as well, again, try to match it with the theme of the room.
8. If you are limited on space, and you have a TV, try to hang the TV on the wall. It saves space, and is really cool.
9. Make a list of some nice accessories you would like. More lighting (how cool are lava lamps??), wall art, cute desk accessories, a little trash can, a cute laundry basket, maybe a cute new clock, alarm clock or iPod dock/speakers? This is your room! Be creative, go crazy! Check out PBTeen.com. They are ideal for shopping for cute bedroom stuff! Good luck.

Bedroom and gaming room designs?

Q. Can someone give me an idea, cuz im going to redecorate my room,it's just a small room. I want it to be my bedroom and also my gaming room, and im having an hard time to decide where to put my bed,my tv and etc..Can someone give me an idea so i can make my room look good? Also im going to repaint it what color is great in a room?

Answer
a bit hard without further details but I like my TV right infront of my bed to watch TV before sleeping, my computer is on the corner of the room by my bed for walking access, my bed is against the wall with a nightstand on the right for stuff, and also random stands/tables all around my room cause I have alot of stuff. For your gaming Room, a classic couch infront of the TV and an Xbox 360 will make it perfect.

Color I like regular whiteish colors, not really white but kinda a beige white, if your a girl then a really light pink looks good. If you want a cool retro/rock teen room then a color like bright blue would be sweet for a gaming room

How to decorate my room?

Q. Hey everyone,

So basically my parents agreed to let me redecorate my room but I don't know how I want it and need some ideas. A few things to consider;

I'm not allowed to paint or do anything permanent to my room.
I love the colour purple
I'm one of those girls addicted to video games
I love animals, and want at least one picture of my soon to be horse.
I'm not really girly
My friends describe me as the rock chic
I LOVE music! Especially Paramore

I don't want it the way it is now, the bed in the corner with the TV and Xbox 360 opposite with cords running all across the floor, the wardrobe against the other wall and posters everywhere. Also, I want it to be light, the window is behind the TV unit. Also, the sunrise comes in the window, if that helps.

Basically, I want some ideas to make it a bit different

Babysitting 2 girls ages 7-10?

Q. im babysitting 2 girls i've met them but didn't spend time with them i would like to know some tips and some activities for girls their age, im a bit scared so anything would help :)

oh im 15
its from 9ish am to around noon

Answer
Babysitting Girls:

- Girls aged 7 - 10 love to cook.
Have them prepare snacks, cakes, biscuits (plain decorated with icing are fun)
and also lunch - homemade pizza, stir fries, club sandwiches, salads etc.
Teach them simple cooking skills and how to clean up afterwards.

- They also love sewing and craft:
macrame, knitting, crochet, altering opp shop clothes to make new fashions,
make dolls clothes out of scraps, glue photos on boards to decorate etc.
Make Christmas decorations or cards.

- Start a small garden with herbs, veggies and flowers.

- Girls love to read:
Have some books on hand, read them a story or the first chapter of a great
novel like Charlotte's Webb. Kids of about 10 start to get into series like
The Little House Books. It is okay to read a little if they are tired, it's raining
or they just feel like a low energy activity.

- Mind and board games are challenging, fun and interactive:
Teach the girls some card games, Monopoly, Suduku, Crosswords, Charades etc.

- Girls that age love action:
Take them map reading or orienteering in the back yard or neighbourhood.
Play ball games, skip with one long rope, dance, swing, roller-blade, ride bikes
to the local park or pool, swim etc.

- Girls love story writing, song writing, singing and putting on plays.

- Girls love to paint, draw and create artwork:
Have them draw portraits, copy/enlarge magazine pictures, paint at the park.

- Kids love to be helpful and kind:
Visit the old lady next door with a cake, wash the neighbour's car or your car,
wash their bedroom windows, write to their Grandfather etc.

- Kids love pets:
Set up a fish tank, look after guinea-pigs, walk a neighbour's dog or go to the Zoo.

- Make sure the girls do not neglect their chores and that they tidy up after
activities. Plan ahead - have materials for a few activities on hand for each week.
Don't cram too much in as it is good for kids to have down time; just be ready to
offer ideas when the girls say that they are bored.

Have all these things in mind but allow the girls to relax and hang out and chat
as well. I would keep watching TV, computer games or movies to a bare minimum.
Parents don't generally want the TV or a screen to babysit their child when they
are paying you to give them some care that is more inspiring and healthy.
Some parents like to watch TV with their children or have that docile activity
as a back stop for other really busy times when the children are tired and the
parents are trying hard to cook dinner etc. and CAN'T spend time with them.

Keep the girls involved in childhood pleasures. Encourage their enquiring minds
and small and large motor(body) skills rather than teaching them make-up,
hair styles, being critical, consumerism, movies and commercial activities.
Kids have years of peer group pressure ahead of them; they grow up soon enough.

Play safe and have fun!!

Laughing w

I am trying to decorate my boyfriends bedroom and apt. In the bedroom the curtains are black and the bedspread is black with tan and and like a darker brown color design on it. I have lotsa wall space so that is not a problem. I just have no idea of what to decorate with. What are some other ideas for like the living area and kitchen? Him and his roommate don't want anything that might be girlish.
The living area has a patriotic theme to it.
The walls are white. They rent so we cannot paint the walls. We just bought the bedspread because he liked the color. The landlord said we had to keep the white blinds, because the bedroom is on the front side of the apt. complex. They want the white so it looks good from the outside.

Answer
I agree with Captain Cracker -- black and white photos are masculine and they are dramatically beautiful. For the bedroom, see if he's agreeble to a new bedspread. A lighter solid color would be better (possibly grey). Lighter curtains would be a big improvement and make it look less like a cave. Again -- solid colors. If he wants the room dark for sleeping -- get the room darkening shades and install under the curtains. Does he have any collectible items -- these make great additions to the walls. If necessary -- buy a shadow box and display small items in there. Don't try to add a lot to the walls. Too many photos, etc will give a cluttered look. Always leave one wall empty as a place "for the eye to rest". If he approves -- this one is fun -- have some of his baby photos framed and hang on the walls. Hang them together in one area. This makes a fun and interesting conversation piece on the wall. Have fun -- but ask for his approval on everything!! Some guys are really picky about decorating...........good luck!

Anyone have any bedroom ideas?

Q. Me and a friend are designing my bedroom but we have a budget of £10,000 (It's a challenge by the way I don't actually have the money) The bedroom is 10 meters by 12 meters. We really want to beat the other team. Thanks for the help!! :) :)

Answer
chic is the theme? ok I'll help
first you go with the little dark or light colors. bedroom, when we say that we should have playful colors but it isn't the colors that hurt your eyes a lot. you should use the colors lavender, pinkish, baby blue, sky blue, dark brown, lime green for your walls

second, the furniture! a four-poster bed or water bed may help. what do you think makes you more comfortable the most? choose the colors, for instance: if you used the dark brown for the walls, then lighten it up with white or black! it depends on what you like

have 2-3 chairs just a little chairs not so big and small table.
put lampshades and one window with a beautiful view, beside or by side your bed.

the most important is use your imagination to make it more comfy, nice, and artistic and attractive! good luck hon! and take note of the colors and their contrast!

bedroom decor for teen girls?

Answer
go to a fabric store and pick out a material you like wrap it and batting over a cork board.

go to home depot and get some plywood and attach a mirror tile to it with construction glue then make a border out of you fav things (pop bottle caps, pop bottle labels, guitar pics, etc)

walmart, family dollar, dollar general, dollar tree, and thrift stores have good finds.

hobby lobby and Michael's put 50% off coupons in their ads every other week you could use it to purchase a canvas and make a large painting for your room.

don't worry about following a theme. use things you like, your room should reflect you!

i was your age when i finally got my own room. i had solid pink curtains. i had them ever since i could remember. to update them i bought cute feather boas at Michael's and hung them like you would hang a window scarf.

i found a beat up table at the thrift store for five bucks. i painted it and it looked great.

there's so many options it's hard to list them all. you don't need to spend a lot to get a nice bedroom.

What ideas are good decor ideas for a teen girls bedroom?

Q. I am getting bored with my old bold green room, I am looking for a newer, cheap, and modern look.

Answer
A lot depends on what the girls like. Are they into sports or still in the girly look? It is always a good idea to have a place for makeup and desks for working so can you find a place to work them in? Might even have bunk beds to be able to get more floor space for desk. If you can do 2 desks so each girl has their own area, they can double as computer and homework place and also makeup spot. but each girl needs her own. Maybe even check out dorms and build it more like a college dorm. There they have 2 twin beds and then usually 2 desks, one for each and a closet each. That is about all that goes in a room. A book shelf or even a hutch over the desk is good to put keepsakes and books and supplies. You may be able to pick up desks and huth at a consignment store or a thrift store. I got mine there at the senior center thrift store. You might be able to let them share a printer if the desks are side by side or you have a wireless printer (wireless not in electric but in connection to computer. If girls are going to collee, as they near it you might consider a laptop for each. Some families like to keep the computer in a family area rather than bedrooms though because of the stuff on the internet and they can monitor them.

As to colors, you can keep walls neutral and decoraete using posters or prints. No more princess stuff for teens, but do include fluffy pillows for the beds. If there is space, separate rooms is nice for teir friends to visit.

You can even do a diagonal line across two opposing walls and paint one side one color and one use the diagonal lines to divide the colors and the colors extend for their side only. Then soften it with curtains that pick up both colors and also using posters or framed prints on the walls to break it up. Can do the same with neutral walls. There are also stencils you can put around the top of a room. I did some roses and purple star flwoers with green leaves and it was like an arbor almost and the kids called the room the rose room or the princess room as they felt like princesses in there. But walls were white. I had spreads with big red peonies that almost looked like roses and it had purple star flowers and green leaves so the roses which were very full, looked almost like the spreads and I used red and purple and green in the room. The carpet was even white and I used wool oriental rugs by the bed and a stained glass lamp shade with roses and a Grecian girl brass base. Had to call it the rose room when any of the fewer boys ame to stay. Or let the girls stay there and the boys could stay on sofa or in the big blue big chairwith ottoman. Unfortunaately we have downsized now and don't have all the space we did then as we went to a small cottage and a mobile home. But you might find a stencil the girls like and put it on the walls, either in random patterns or as a border at the top or even dropped down a bit as mine was. I did the stencils around and then did just the roses and no star flowers about every 3rd one above it as it needed soemthing else. I hope I have photos someplace. I haven't caught up with photos since they went into storage.

Good luck in finding something lovely and feminine and yet very practical for the girls.

She's having both a bedroom and a playroom (they are attached) Myself and my husband Eli have absolutely NO decorting ideas ....aso any and ll ideas are extremly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Answer
When I have my baby girl I'm decorating her bedroom and playroom like this....

Bedroom - Soft green walls with a dark green vine border at the top and soft yellow, light pink, and powder blue butterflies on the walls. (The room has dark brown wood floors)

Playroom - The ceiling is going to be sky blue with clouds and the light as the sun. The sky blue color will go 1/4 of the way down the walls, then it will change to a darker blue the rest of the way. Then I'll paint a treasure chest, seaweed, fishes, and an octopus. (The room has tan carpet)

dust free bedding ideas for rat cage?

girl0501

i have 3 beautiful little girls living in a cage, within the course of 2 weeks of having them are all sick clearly with very early, very treatable stages of mycoplasma. in an attempt to take them to the vet, the one who started this bit me pretty badly and after talking to two vets who specialize in rats, they are both useless giving me repetitive answers of "i don't know." fine whatever, i'm using the carefresh bedding right now and notice it contains quite a bit of dust which obviously isn't helping them...does anyone use a bedding that hasn't caused them a great amount of dust problems?

would pine be better than the carefresh bedding?

please help, they may be rats to most people but they are beloved pets to me and this has completely ruined my day.
3 story ferret cage, it's all barred and open and we put them in a spacious area so they aren't locked in anywhere. i just cleaned out the cage for the first time and lifted the bedding to find a shit ton of dust underneath..
i switched to eco bedding and had to switch it out while they were in the cage since they won't come to me. it was amazing how i heard a lot less sneezes and one of the rats seems to be better. i think...i'm posting another question later.

anyways, the original sick dumbo is still very pissed and she's also showing signs of being the alpha rat of the cage. at least they're taking food from me and drinking water.

Answer
Carefresh Ultra and regular has tons of dust in it. My females cant tolerate it without sneezing non stop. I would suggest either Eco Bedding, which is recycled cardboard, or Yesterdays News, which is pellets of compressed recycled paper. Eco Bedding is cheaper and stretches farther for me. I also have a 3 story ferret cage for my female rats (Marshall Ferret Mansion), so Im assuming its about the same specs.

what stuff should we do in bed other than intercourse?

Q. i just want to be good and fun in bed. please give me ideas of what i should do in bed with my man other the sexual intercourse..please no silly answers
thank you

Answer
Being good in bed is NOT about listing off physical activities. It's not an exercise schedule.

Being good in bed is about attitude. I was a swinger for years and I was amazed at how little people grasp this concept. I had beautiful women who were terrible in bed and unattractive women who were amazing. It was the attitude they brought to sex. Consider the act of a BJ. If you give a bj like a slow bike ride in the park VS. a hungry dog who just found a steak, you will NOT be good in bed. Be the starving dog. NEED sex vs. allow sex. Beg for sex rather than wait to be asked. These are the things that make a woman fantastic in bed.

Now that you have the general attitude, focus on what works for men. Romance, tenderness, emotion... while all good, do nothing for men in bed. Men are action creatures. We bond over fishing and never say a word. The ACT of sex bonds men to their wives, not emotion or sensuality during sex. The more you introduce sensuality, the more likely he is to fantasize about better sex during sex.

What works for men? Visuals and audibles. Men primarily want to see sex or more importantly, sexuality. Sexuality is the body language of looking sexual or horny. Start out by making sure he SEES sexuality in you. Subtle glimpses of body parts like if you weren't wearing a bra and you bent over near him and he caught a glimpse of your breasts. Or wear a long t-shirt with nothing underneath but make sure you sit with your knees up so he can SEE. The gateway to a man's sex is his eyes. Many men like their women to talk about sex too. Do it like a conversation, not like a porn start trying to act sultry. Say things like, 'I love it when you lick here or when you...' (fill in the blank with something true). But talk like this when you are driving to the store or on a date. Slip comments like this in all the time. Talk about how you were thinking of him earlier in the day and you had to stop and masturbate. This will drive him nuts to know you are a sexual person. Most women guard their sexuality so closely that they teach their man that sex is never on their mind or so rarely it's not worth wanting.

during sex, make sure you aren't mute. Make sex noises but don't over do it. Talk dirty(ish). Don't say things like 'Wanna do it?' - instead say things like, 'I want to f*** so bad I can't wait any more'. Just reframing the question into a need is a huge improvement, but adding specific language rather than pet talk, works wonders as well. It's says you are sexual and not all caught up in 'acting' like a good girl too much.

Once you are having sex, try to find positions where your man can see sex. The more visual you make it, the better(based on the average man, of course). Most men like to see sex, so the more visuals you provide the higher his sexual arousal. Standing squat is great, reverse cowgirl, doggy style... all provide a view.

Being the girl who will vs. being the girl who says no is a huge factor as well. Many men cheat with uglier women who will do anything. Anal, swallow, etc. I am not a fan of anal, but I think that swallowing is across the board desired by men. It demonstrates a complete acceptance of sex and all that it entails. For me and most of the guys I know, we don't really care 'specifically' if you swallow, but when we are with women who CRAVE the taste and to swallow, it does triple the experience because any woman THAT sexual is just plain HOT. My wife never swallowed until we met a couple that we swapped with that drank pineapple juice the day of sex. They tasted like candy. My wife couldn't get enough of his cum, which was out of her character. From then on, if we know we are going to romp, we drink pineapple juice and avoid coffee or smoking(for those who smoke) so that it does not make it bitter.

Finally, good sex is not a one time thing. It's about maintaining a good sex life. Men, especailly, need sex every day but that isn't always practical. Every other day is optimal. If you go beyond that, your man is actually losing desire for you. Have consistent gaps in sex of 2 or more days and he is permanently losing desire for you. The problem is, that is sex drive is increasing but not for you. Which is why men cheat... lack of sex. Have enough sex and he will worship you. Lack of sex will make him distant, bitter and eventually fall out of love.

To sum up. Remember V3F.

In all things keep sex VISUAL.

Then add Fire, Freak & Frequency.

Fire - How bad you NEED sex.
Freak - Be wild and kinky.
Frequent - No matter how well you do the others, if it's not often enough, you will lose him.

Teen Bedroom?

Bunifah Bo

my parents are letting me redecorate my room. Do you guys have any ideas about what color i could paint it? Do you have an idea for a theme (furniture, accersories, etc?) By the way, I am 14 years old.
Thanks!

Answer
A really trendy and beautiful color scheme is chocolate brown and shades of blue. Try painting your walls light aqua or turquoise, then accessorizing with chocolate brown.

For bedding, are a couple of great bed sets in those colors:
- http://www.pillowsandthrows.com/modern-bedding-linenfold-cosmo.html

They look luxurious and grown up without looking old-fashioned, and there are lots and lots of accessories that you can work with. You can also try adding white as an accent color. If you don't like blue and brown, chocolate brown also looks great with other colors like lilac, coral or yellow.

And if all else fails, try going to your favorite store and finding one item that you absolutely can't live without -- a vase, bedding, a great mirror, a decorative pillow, etc -- and use the colors and theme from that item to inspire the rest of your room.

Happy decorating!

Paint color ideas?

Donna M

I have two walls in my bedroom that are a beautiful color olive green, I want the other two walls to be something that would fall under a cool shade. Any ideas?

Answer
As there is no accent wall as you have done 2 in green, for a modern aesthetic, I would actually stick to a warm tone cream with a contrasting horizontal stripe of your olive green in the middle.

If you are more traditional, I would still pick a warm tone watered down olive green rather than cool as this is a risky move mixing the two styles. If you still want cool ask a colour specialist at your paint store.

Honeymoon ideas in San Diego?

Q. I'm in the Army stationed in Korea. I'm going to be home in April for 2 weeks to get married to my fiancé. I need help on choosing the right hotel to stay at and things to do for a little honeymoon. I'm 21 and my fiancés 20.

Answer
Since you only mentioned hotels, I'm assuming you already have a venue for the actual wedding & reception/after party, and are just looking for something for you & your (soon to be) husband?
Sand Diego has a ton of places, but most of them are more resort/party related. For a honeymoon, I would think you guys would want something that was more catered to just the two of you, at least as a hotel, so you guys can spend time together. If it was me, I would try for a bed and breakfast over a hotel- they're smaller, quieter, and usually have better amenities for couples.

It wasn't for a honeymoon (Iâm not married yet), but a few years ago my boyfriend and I stayed at a bed and breakfast called Jamul Haven. It was originally built as farmhouse in the Victorian era (Victorian era=beautiful architecture, and super romantic, décor wise) by the owner of an Olive Farm. There is a ton of history to it, but I won't bore you with the details of that here- it's since been revamped as a exclusive bed and breakfast (there are only 4 rooms altogether).

The location is gorgeous- it's built on the foothills of the Laguna mountains, and we spent every night watching the sunset there. The whole sky was lit up with colors I swear I've never seen in our home state (Ohio).

Each of the rooms has a theme- we stayed in the Celtic room; when we booked our stay, that was the only one available for the week we were going, but it was stunning. The bedroom was in an all-wood interior turret, with stained glass windows. We had a sitting room, a private balcony, and private bathroom. The other rooms are the Peacock Room, The Asian Room, and the Rose Room. I didn't get to see the Rose or the Asian room, but the couple staying in the Peacock room were really nice, and let us see their room while we were there. It's called the Peacock room because it has a beautiful stained glass window with a peacock. Their room was larger than ours, but our room was very comfortable and spacious too. The innkeepers told us our room was the only one that a fireplace, so if you're planning to go when it's a little chilly at night, it's a really romantic room to get. I don't know what their booking is like- when we went, we called the month before, and had no trouble making reservations.

There is so much stuff to do there; it was honestly like a resort of it's own. There's a gym, a gameroom, a pub, a parlor room, a library, and a ballroom/disco (it was not used while we were there though). They also have a beautiful English garden, and a Pool with a spa. The pool is AWESOME- crystal clear, blue water, with several little waterfalls. They had yoga in the morning, if you wanted, and the spa does massages, manicures, pedicures, etc. all poolside, if you want.
There is a HUGE kitchen, which is decorated like a real farmhouse kitchen. We had gourmet breakfasts (included with your stay), and you can go back in anytime you wanted for coffee, etc. they also had home baked cookies every night, which I thought was really sweet.

They are very lose to downtown San Diego, so if you want to do sightseeing or whatnot, there's plenty of things, but honestly, we hardly left the bed and breakfast. It's on 6 acres, all enclosed, so the privacy is amazing, and we had so much privacy, it was like having an entire resort to ourselves. The inn keepers were really wonderful, and took care of us the whole week- anytime we needed something, they got it to us immediately, and they just made us feel like they really wanted us to enjoy our trip.

If you do get bored, there is horseback riding and golf nearby, which the innkeepers will help get you set up with; plus you're right by the movie theaters & casinos.

I could go on for another hour about it, so I'll stop that here- but Iâll put their website in here, and if you have any other questions, you can email me & I'll try to answer them :) It was such a special place, and I really want to go back again someday. I imagine it would be amazing for a honeymoon.

Hope this helped :) And congrats! Wherever you decide to stay, I'm sure it will be perfect.

How to decorate my room?

Q. Hey everyone,

So basically my parents agreed to let me redecorate my room but I don't know how I want it and need some ideas. A few things to consider;

What theme is your baby or toddlers nursery/ room?

My 18 month old son has had his nursery decorated with the Thomas the Tank Engine theme, with the Thomas border, cut outs, lamp, night light, light switch cover, Thomas rug, and now that he can climb out of his crib we have to upgrade his nursery into a big boy room complete with the Thomas the Train toddler bed.

Also I am 16 weeks pregnant, but not knowing whether we will be having a boy or girl I am not sure what my baby's nursery decor will be. I think that if I have a girl I might do Tinkerbell, or better yet Disney princess's. If we have another boy I don't know what theme I will go with yet.

With my now 8 year old son, when he was a baby I painted his ceiling with clouds, and painted the walls yellow half way up with a sun, moon, stars border and the top half was blue. I also had stars, suns, and moons cut out from extra border and stuck them to the top of the walls and had glow in the dark stars on the roof. So when it was light it was daytime with the clouds and in the dark it was night with the stars. Also had a dresser and lamp that matched and the lamp rotated clouds on the walls.

I am just wondering what theme all of you answerer parents have chosen for your little ones.

We can't decorate in the place we're living right now, but when my son was younger, we got In The Night Garden wall stickers that peel off, so we made a little scene with them. Then, we got dinosaurs when he went through a dinosaur craze.
When we move to our permanent home, he'll be about 2 and a half, and he's getting a Toy Story themed bedroom. Glow in the dark boarder, curtains, a rug, bed spread, everything, he'll be so excited.

Teen girls, help me design my bedroom?

Gracie779

I am a 16 year old girl and I want to give my room a face lift. Currently, my room has no unifying theme and is really random. It's not that I need to change a lot of things, but the things that I do need to change seem to make all the difference. My room sort of has a theme of zebra, black/white with pink accents. I recieved a zebra comforter for Christmas (which was apparently expensive), so I would hate to get a new one. However, my walls are painted a pastel orange are are decorated with rainbow butterfly stickers, which clashes with the whole theme. However, I do have white furniture and a pink lamp, which match nicely. I have some questions:

1.) What colors should I paint my walls? I was thinking a bright green (I hate pink walls).

2.) Would zebra, black/white, pink and green go together?

3.) Roughly, how much would it cost to get my room professionally painted? (It's small- medium sized)

4.) Currently, I have a big picture of the word "LOVE" in different colored/ patterned letters surrounded by vines and flowers. Would this "go" in my room if I painted it? My mom just bought this and I would hate to throw it away.

Any other suggestions/ comments? Thanks for your help!!!

Answer
hmm okay well of course i would keep the zebra comforter, and you could do like a light pink walls but if you dont like pink then try maybe cream or light blue or green then get another blue of green lamp to match the pink one and tie the room together...possibly try finding a matching rug or some matching throw pillows for youre bed. and not everything is going to go perfectly together in your room like they try to make it in pbteen but i thiink if the "love" picture has green pink or black in it everything will turn out nice..how this helps :)

go to IKEA, it is seriously so much fun. Affordable, easy and good looking. You may not find zebra there but I'm sure target would have a good throw or area rug. You should also try Homegoods. They always have a lot of those animal print things. But really, go to IKEA.

Teen girl bedroom decorating themes and ideas! cant decide! any ideas?

Ashley

hey, i really need some help deciding what theme to do for my room. I really like to go to florida to theme parks. i love hotels and the beach. I would like to do a disney theme, but im 15 years old and i think that would be to babyish. i also like the pink and zebra Parisian look. My favorite colors are pink, blue, and green! Also if you have any do it yourself projects that would help too! Thanks :]

Answer
Since your 15, you want it to look mature, of course.
So here are some ideas for your themes

*Note, when you go on these links, go down to the middle of the page and you will see a room that you might like, under the big picture are smaller pictures that show you all the angles of these real life room!

Hotel/Beach theme -
I think this is a great theme, and it is very chiq, simple, and calming to do.
I am not sure if you want a real BEACH theme:

http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Girls-Rooms/beach-tropical-teen-room/detail.esi?oid=3382705
But I dont think you are looking for that, here are some rooms that have that beach vibe with a more sophisticated look, if you think it looks TOO mature you could always add some beach shells or something cute.
http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Girls-Rooms/Londons-Paradise/detail.esi?oid=1446324
I think this is perfect: http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Girls-Rooms/Stylish-Military-Housing/detail.esi?oid=457227
This room has the clean hotel feel, and with some extra beach accent it could be amazing:
http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Girls-Rooms/Mom-loose-the-Pink-its-for-bab/detail.esi?oid=3192692

These are hotel styled room, and again if you add more beach elements and colors it would look even more stunning:

http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Girls-Rooms/Glamorous-Teenage-Bedroom-Rema/detail.esi?oid=467564

Now for the Parisian look. This is all about elegance and class.
Look at these rooms for inspiration:
http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Girls-Rooms/Girls-Parisianinspired-bedroom/detail.esi?oid=1442276
http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Girls-Rooms/Elegant-Teen-Room/detail.esi?oid=442801
This room is very zebra-blue cute:

Good luck! Take ideas from these rooms, find your own way to make them cute - and remember to keep a color scheme, so everything ties in together.

Teen girl bedroom??:)?

Q. What are some little finishing touches I can put on my room. Nothing like painting just little stuff that adds to the room, like flowers on a coffee table... Thanks! My room is pink, white, and black with some zebra

Answer
The things you add should be something you really like. Do you have a collection of anything that you could display - or at least part of it. Pillows and books/magazines are nice. If you need pictures for the wall you can get posters of just about anything that you like. Take your time picking out what you really want and have fun. Accessories can always be changed later if you so desire.

I need bedroom ideas? Teen girl?

Q. I'm redoing my room.
So I want a room that can be my escape, it needs to be someplace amazing and happy.
Please give me ideas
the skies the limit I don't really care.
As long as you don't say black, zebra print, or brown I'm happy.
PS. Not too old, not to young. Thanks! :)

**Stuff about me you don't have to read.**
Love music
Small room
Hate hot pink
like light pink
love the summer
love the beach
uh Chyeah! GO! :D
Thanks much appreciation to those of you who answer.
Thanks, that's a nice idea but I think you misread the question, BEDroom, not BATHroom but thanks anyways! :)

Answer
I would incorporate your love of the beach with your love of light pink. Light pink doesn't have to be too "little girl", you can modernize it by pairing it with neutrals. Being that you love the beach, I would choose a sand color as your neutral and go that way with your furniture. You could incorporate shell type tones of light pink in your linens and accessories you can really get into the theme with things like jars of sand, baskets of shells and beach glass, pieces of coral, etc. You may also want a small aquarium with gravel and accessories reflecting your color choices of the room. To mix music into your theme why not try your favorite song lyrics painted on your wall?

How can I make my bedroom cozier and prettier?

Q. I am 13yr old girl and I want to make my bedroom feel like a place I actually want to hang out in because at the moment it is sort of boring. But the problem is I can't paint the walls and I only have a budget of about $50. I want to make it indie or vintage looking.

Answer
It's always fun redecorating! :) I hope you're able to find some things you like that are within your budget. Here are some answers and ideas I found online that should help you out. Good luck!

Idea 1: Hobby Lobby has beautiful vintage looking stuff. They are always having sales!

Idea 2: DIY lacy/doily lamps! (it's the second link below)

Idea 3: They have cute scrapbook boxes at AC Moore ( www.acmoore.com) and you can stuff almost anything in them. I have about 4 and they're helpful and come in a variety of colors. I always think a painting or 2 make a room look nice. You can also find some removable wall stickers at most art stores, but I'm not so sure about the price. For the furniture, pick a color you like and make sure they contrast. Like, don't pick dark brown furniture with a gray comforter.

Idea 4: Animal prints, polka dots, stripes, or retro would all look pretty good. Just pick your favorite them and go with it.

Happy decorating!

Breakfast at Tiffany's bedroom ideas?

Ashley

Ok so I just got through the stage of having Jonas Brothers posters COVERING all four pf my walls and I mean I still LOVE them but I want a more formal kind of room now. I'm going to be a sophomore in high school and I just recently watched Breakfast at Tiffany's with my aunt. I fell in love with the movie and I want my room to be based on the movie (well like the formal/fancy part anyways). I already have cream colored furniture in my room which I can't get rid of so I'm stuck with that. I already found a perfect bed set for my room but I still need more. Oh and by the way I'm on a low budget. Any ideas?

This is a link to the bed set I'm going to get...

http://www.target.com/dp/B000UBWHJQ/ref=cm_reviews_next?ie=UTF8&pf_rd_r=1CRZYF0XJP7BSTCNZN0G&pf_rd_p=473437131&pf_rd_i=B000UBWHJQ&page=5&pf_rd_s=bottom-7&activetab=Reviews&pf_rd_m=A1VC38T7YXB528&pf_rd_t=5201
I can't do anything to my furniture i have now. so now spray painting or pasting anything on it.
oh and right now my walls are bright pink and green...so i need better colors to paint over them. plus i have a bright pink chair and a pink + purple lamp.

Answer
I think that bedding is okay, but it is a little bit overused and the pink doesnt match much.
When I think of that movie, the colors I think are cream, white, silver, black, and of course, tiffany blue! - http://www.colourlovers.com/wallPaper/800x600/p/291457/COLOURlovers.com-Tiffany_Blue_Box.png

Even though you cant change your furniture, you can change it to a whole new look! You can buy spray paint, and spray paint your furniture black, white, or silver. Buy new knobs for the drawers - those are really cheap and give it a whole new look.

That movie is defintly crystals, glass, and classy.
You could paint the walls in stripes, with different aquas with a silverish border.
Add crystal, glass, silver and white, cream accessories and a beautiful cream color long haired rug by the bed. or a really bold zebra rug : http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=11078113 http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=11030429

An amazing example of color-choices http://www.susanjablonmosaics.com/userfiles/rox-glass-tile-turquoise-shwr.jpg

Get small frames and have pictures of Audrey Hepburn and photos of New York City in different sizes. Frames are really cheap, and a can of spray can can make it look wonderful.
Pictures : http://www.allposters.com/gallery.asp?startat=/getposter.asp&APNum=1336537&CID=6DAEB2A0F15C4AFFBD2E5576F47302FA&PPID=1&search=audrey%20hepburn&f=c&FindID=66626&P=1&PP=10&sortby=PD&cname=Audrey+Hepburn&SearchID= , http://www.allposters.com/gallery.asp?startat=/getposter.asp&APNum=2671038&CID=6DAEB2A0F15C4AFFBD2E5576F47302FA&PPID=1&search=audrey%20hepburn&f=c&FindID=66626&P=1&PP=10&sortby=PD&cname=Audrey+Hepburn&SearchID= , http://www.allposters.com/gallery.asp?startat=/getposter.asp&APNum=3489813&CID=6DAEB2A0F15C4AFFBD2E5576F47302FA&PPID=1&search=tiffany&f=t&FindID=0&P=1&PP=12&sortby=PD&cname=&SearchID=

For the bed I would "glam" it up by using cream color bedding with white and silver accent pillows alternating; with one Tiffany's style blue pillow in the center. For sheets look for ones with patterns, rather than solid colors that correspond with your color scheme.

For a dresser I would go with white but if you really want to âglamâ up dresser you can use your existing dresser and cover it in mirrored tiles.
Put in a "crystal" chandelier for lighting, not a real one - but something fake and cute.

Look through vintage shops for old mirrors, with nice frames. Again, some spray paint will make the frames look very nice.

Look for accessories like this : http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/AngieCMAN/Blog%20items/Kenidisroom0001_12.jpg

Look for pretty mirrors like this : http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00091967

Go to homedepot and just look around. You will get lots of ideas.

Good luck.

EDIT:
I thought this bedset was perfect, so you could keep any of the pink accents you have : http://store.delias.com/browse.do?categoryID=1917&sidenavTrack=roomwares.victorian

It doesnt matter if you have pink and green walls, you can still paint it tiffany blue. Just give it a a double coat if it doesnt cover.

Teenage girls bedroom?

Q. im a 15 year old girl and i am giving my room a makeover ( new curtains, painting the walls, and painting my chair and bookcase, new bed covers) i have i lilac carpet which i dont like but i cant change. i also have white furniture, which is sort of off white. i was going to have dark pink curtains, ivory coloured walls, and lots of things on the wall like posters, pictures etc. but im not sure about it now. i want my room to have a warm cosy feel to it. what colours should i go for?

i like this room:
http://www.pbteen.com/shop/teen-rooms/girls-bedroom-furniture/bohemian-bedroom/

if you have any links to bedrooms i would appriciate it also. Thankyou

Answer
Well it's kinda unfortunate that your carpet is colored, but you could stay with the purple color scheme. I have ivory carpet and lilac walls, for my bed I have dark purple linens. For your curtains you could get double curtains which means a sheer and a non-seethrough curtain, like this
http://www.google.com/imgres?q=double+curtains&um=1&hl=en&biw=1056&bih=627&tbm=isch&tbnid=JFhBojKQjU3bJM:&imgrefurl=http://www.the-curtainshop.com/tab_top_cur.htm&docid=QMVfPWT2yj6wMM&imgurl=http://www.the-curtainshop.com/images/curtains/curtains%252520for%252520poles/tab%252520tops/PA250160.JPG&w=640&h=480&ei=GsEuT7agL4LhiAL28unTCg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=460&vpy=291&dur=4475&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=130&ty=133&sig=113977126072818520400&page=1&tbnh=126&tbnw=170&start=0&ndsp=15&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:0

layer them over each other (Check at IKEA for curtain they have different fabrics and colors available). I also have a decor piece on my wall... it's a candle holder with metal plates in silver, purple and gunmetal... You could paint decorative touches on your walls or google for wall stickers... there are all kinds of stickers depicting objects, quotes and they can be a cheap way to make some personal touches... Plus most are easy to remove so you can change stickers as often as you like...

Need ideas--Redecorating room for 4 yo boy/girl twins!?

treefor3

I'm looking for creative ideas for redecorating my 4 year old boy/girl twins' bedroom. They've outgrown their toddler beds and the babyish nursery decor. We're planning to get them bunk beds and I'd like to update the room. My boy is all "boy"--trucks and cars and the like--and my girl is all "girl"--pink and princesses and ponies. They do share a common love of animals, so I was thinking of doing some sort of animal theme. Any suggestions?
