Cute ways to decorate a 13 year old girls bedroom?

Autumn Cha

Hi! (: So I'm looking for some cute ways to decorate my room because I'm really sick of it. My room still has the same fairy wall paper from when I was like 5 and I hate it, but theres nothing i can do about it. My room recently just repainted my room but she didn't take down the wall paper. I really want to make it look nice and not like a 5 year old girls room. Heres some of the things I like : I love a lot of color
I love Hollister and other stuff like that
I love makeup
I love pink and purple and black
Any ideas? Thanks (:
*My mom painted my room xD

Answer
I'm 13. I just painted my walls. one is black. one is dark blue. one is neon green with paint fliinged on it. one is also blue, but it's covered in posters. on the blue and black walls i painted/glued pics of spaceships, planets, astronauts, aliens, etc. on the other wall, the plain one, i have tons of posters- tv shows, video games, educational, pretty, motivational, etc as well as pics of my pets/friends. the neon green wall has other spare colors flinged all over it wildly. i did this w my frends, loads of fun. my ceiling is calm blue with white "clouds' painted on (it looks pretty horrible, but i like it.)

Baby Name Game!!! plus BQ?

Love2Laugh

So this is a little different from most name games...

but you look at the picture of a bedroom and name the child!

you can make it all one family or each a different family! whatever you want.

Bedroom design help!?

Jessica Ra

Im trying to figure out the best way to redecorate my bedroom. Im a full time student and am stuck at home with my parents for the time being and I want my room to represent a 21 year old women, not a 14 year old girl. My biggest problem is that harry potters bedroom under the stairs is bigger than mine. I know I want to paint it red and cream and incorporate music and Paris. Thanks for all the advice, its greatly appreciated!

Answer
Make a mood board of images that inspire you - could be pictures you've found of bedrooms you love, products you like or even pics of your own stuff. Put them all together and search for products that look good together.

You can have fun creating your moodboard online - try this http://mydeco.com/design/ (click on 'create a moodboard' to get started). Or browse all the bedroom designs for ideas. Good luck!

Bedroom Decoration Ideas.?

Laura R

Hey, im a 13yr old girl and im getting my room redecorated soon. i want something that will last me a while. im not realy girly. my room is quite big but not massive. also i might be having a shower in one of the corners. i was thing about like white walls and then one stripey one but im not sure, i like bright colors. Any color ideas? dont give me american websites because i live in the UK Thanks x

Answer
A feature wall like you describe is really modern and will make a room last from teenage years through to leaving home.
Here are ideas of colours

Green- teal/ jade etc. This goes well with white and you can easily find accessories such as lamps, bedding to match.

Yellow- Again this is longlasting and would look nice.

Lilac- Not too girly but grown up. Goes well with creams and beiges.

Brown- Sounds unsual but definitely coming into fashion. Mix with greens, pale pinks or cream/ white to get a nice look.

Blue- Different shades of blue would look nice.

If you are quite artistic you could do an interesting abstract design on one wall. If you've ever watched The Hits channel, they used to have a scene where the TV was turned on and flowers and shapes appeared on the walls. You could do that kind of thing if you know what I mean.

Canvas paintings are really big now. Again, if you're artistic you can buy various sizes from shops like Hobbycraft and some acrylic paints and brushes and design it yourself. Go for that modern abstract theme and do shapes and patterns in simple, block colours.

You could go very neutral and have white then accessorise with lamps, bedding boxes etc.
You could add patterns such as stripes, spots etc.

Good surfing accessories for surf themed bedroom?

Laura

Im 15 year old girl, live in the UK, i surf... so i want a surf themed room, i have already decorated my room a sandy cream sort of colour, i have a turquoise coloured real shell light shade, turquoise curtains with real shell tie backs and have a picture of a big barrell wave on one wall and a Volks Wagon surf van canvas on my other wall to, both in a blue colour :) i also have some small painted starfish and shells on my window ledge as well as Hawaiian luau hung around my room... i also have white bedding with hand made turquoise blue cushions :) i have white furniture and i was going for the beach surf sort of look... so i was wondering if anyone else had any other ideas of what i could put accessories wise in my room???? i cant put a surfboard in my room because its not a very big room and my i need my three surfboards to use when i go surfing... any ideas would be appreciated, thanks xx Remember im from the UK, so please dont reccommend anything from a US store. thanks again :) xxx

Answer
You can print off pics from the computer from companies like Billabong or Roxy or Rip Curl or Quiksilver, all really big surfin brands. Maybe just get some cheap jandals and pin them to the wall. Or a cheap beach towel. Blow up a beach ball and just have it round your room for when you get board (see what i did there hehe)

I'm a teenage girl and sadly have to share a room. I'm a bit of a tomboy, and I enjoy darker colors. My comforter is navy blue. I LOVE posters, (guitars, fall out boy, patd, etc.) and I don't have very much space to decorate. My sister is several years younger than me and is a soccer FREAK! I don't want anything soccer or matching. Can anyone find a website planner, or come up with some ideas to help me?

Thank you SO much, I appreciate it! ^.^

NEED IDEAS FOR A 50's VINTAGE BEDROOM ?

chillbee=]

well i'm thinkin bout designing my new bedroom with a 50's vintage style, but i dont have any idea how ? . i was thinkin like faded colors, and posters but i need some more ideas ?
helppp !

Answer
First, how old are you and are you a boy or a girl? Since you mentioned posters, I assume you are a teenager or young adult. I was thinking of the room Wally and Beaver shared on Leave it to Beaver. Their room had wooden shelves on the walls for books and model airplanes, wallpaper and plaid bedspreads with matching curtains. The boys' room on My Three Sons had baseball wallpaper, a bookshelf and headboards that had shelves.

On The Donna Reed Show, Mary's room was very frilly; the bedspread, the vanity and curtains all matched. Since it was black and white, I have no idea what color it was, but I'd bet on pink.

can anyone suggest a beautiful design for a teenage girl's bedroom. i am having problems because the floor is green.

Answer
the green floor isn't a problem

go with a bohemian look, with lots of colors,

satin comforter (my friend got one for $34 at Ross - like a TJ Maxx or other seconds stores)

mosquito netting,

lots of storage, bookshelves, wardrobes,

lamps and sconces of different colors,

throw pillows with texture, corderoy, embroidery, silky.

Sheer curtains in different colors, over the windows, over the doors, put up curtain rods on the walls and hang curtains where ever you want, instead of painting the walls if you are uncertain about a paint color. A soft green, or blue, or mid-tone red, warm yellow will look great on the wall.

Avoid pastels. You want rich jewel tones to draw attention away from the green carpet.

Set up a small reading area away from your bed and desk. An old armchair from a second hand store draped with chenille throws will give you a comfy space to relax.

Organize the desk, it will help with studying and preparing for college. Now's a good time to get a filing cabinet and learn to file personal papers and bank statements.

Interior design/Decor/Storage options for destructive kids?

TarasBouti

Most of the time, not a problem. I just see that some days out of the year, we need something extra.
We already use childproofing (I only use back burners, no standing water, outlet plugs, no marbles, etc.)
We already keep things on high shelves, the walls are bare so they can't break pictures.

What I mean is they break hangers, climb everything, take things apart, ruin their clothes and so on and so forth. They are gifted and hyper...some of you know what I mean. We study the bible with them, so most days, there's no problem. I also organize DAILY extra projects in addition to the chores, tv, educational games, etc. But FOR WHATEVER REASON, some days I'm sick or something and those are the days when they decide it's a free for all.

Answer
My condolences...
I got nothing, you seem to have covered the obvious.

Been there.
First, let me preface by saying my mother had 2 well behaved girls. So when I was expecting my second and expressed concern about keeping my son in line while I nursed the baby, my mother said,

"I just gave you a coloring book and it was no problem." Yeah, thanks mom. Her grandkids are 5 boys, no girls, NOW she knows what I was talking about.

My 2nd son hardly got to finish a nursing in peace and I found myself putting the chair against the bedroom door so my 2 year old had to stay with me and couldn't get into trouble. I also had to become a better disciplinarian, better organizer and know when to ask for help.

We had a large basement that we added a sandbox, fisher price climbing toy, block, balls etc. This was not all day, every day space. It was fun space when earned or if I needed the break.
We went outside as much as possible. In Connecticut it's not always possible.

If they drew on the walls, they had to clean it.
If they broke it, I threw it out.
If they touched my things, I removed their favorite for 1 week
Time-outs are useless for a hyper child - try jumping jacks.

I don't know what age your kids are, but as soon as they are verbal (age 2-2.5) they are able to understand your words. Keep them to a minimum, your actions speak more. Don't threaten, DO.
Rules:
Feet on the floor
Not yours - don't touch
No hitting

How to decorate a teenage girl's bedroom?

I want the theme to be "love" but I want to limit the pink because I ain't that girly. Right now, I am saving money to buy paint, but for now the walls are white. My bedspread is plain brown, i have one white dresser, and two brown desks in my room. I want to paint my room a deep red and pink border. I want to know some cheap ways to fix the theme, like i made a tissue paper flower, hung it on my wall, then cut out constuction letters and wrote in big letters "love". Any other ideas? REALLY IMPORTANT. What color curtains/bedspread/doilies should I have? And I have a lamp, what should I draw on it, just hearts? and Any other cheap things I can use/make to enhance the theme? Please and Thank you.

Cool teen age girl room ideas?

rh

I get to re do my room for my b day this year(its a while away but i want to have the perfect room so no sense waiting to find that perfect theme) I am thinking about doing something along the lines of a minimalist theme because i love the way it looks so clutter free and sophisticated. I am turning 13 but i want my room to look really sophisticated and elegant so more of a room for like a 16 yr old maybe. I can repaint i think, get new furniture, that kind of thing the only thing i can't do is get new carpet. What would be some cool ideas for a sophisticated, elegant room? pics would be great! thanks a lot! ps i dont really want anything super colorful, its just not me.

Answer
James was a great help:) Ok so here we go. For small rooms it's great to use a light colors because it seems to open up a room. So keep the colors light. Too keep a room from getting too dark if you still want to use a darker color then have an accent wall with your bed against it. This will make it the focal point. Then you can paint the rest of it white so you have the best of both worlds; a light an airy room, and that dark color you wanted. Or you can have a white room with the accent color teal and something else if you want.
I love the look of teal and coral together. I think color teal is the most beautiful color ever.. As of yesterday.. For right now.
What's the point of having windows if they're gonna be closed all the time? Keep your windows open (the curtains at least) and let the light in. Having natural light in gives the room that great light and airy feeling.
Another great reason to have natural lighting. This doesn't really have to do with anything, it's just a great tip. If you have good natural lighting then put your alarm clock near that lighting. The light is like your body's alarm clock so when your alarm clock goes off you will feel a lesser need to roll over and go back to sleep.
No matter how big your room is you usually don't see people trying to make their room smaller. Another great way to keep your room open is to use multipurpose furniture. Things that have storage in them. Like an ottoman doubles as a foot rest and a storage place to keep books and other things. Make sure your night stands have storage space in them instead of using a stool.
Designs: Since your room would most likely look tacky if you used all your favorite patterns on the walls, so try to incorporate them in your decor. You can have chevron, polka dots, and striped pillows and picture frames and things like that and it will still look fine.
I'll give you all of the links that I found. Most of them have coral in them and some have teal in it and they look great together. If you end up loving it like I did then these will be helpful for redoing:

Need ideas--Redecorating room for 4 yo boy/girl twins!?

I'm looking for creative ideas for redecorating my 4 year old boy/girl twins' bedroom. They've outgrown their toddler beds and the babyish nursery decor. We're planning to get them bunk beds and I'd like to update the room. My boy is all "boy"--trucks and cars and the like--and my girl is all "girl"--pink and princesses and ponies. They do share a common love of animals, so I was thinking of doing some sort of animal theme. Any suggestions?

How long should Boy/Girl twins share a room?

Leigha

I have a three-bedroom house, one room for my husband and I, one room for my oldest daughter, and one room for my twins. They are seven and have been sharing a room since they were babies. Now I want to get a four-bedroom house because I think it's time they get their own room. We have the funds, so I'm just deciding if I should go through with it. Is it time?

Answer
Are your kids still comfortable in the same room or are they complaining. Twins have a closeness that we non-twins will never "get". They may even be upset at the idea or sleeping apart. In my opinion as long as they are happy it is appropriate to share a room until closer to puberty maybe 10?

What are some cute ideas for my new apartment?

Q. I'm going off to college this fall, and I'm living in a student housing type apartment. I'll be living with 3 other girls, but my own bedroom will be about 10x12. It already comes with a full size bed, armoire, desk, and nightstand. What are some themes and cute things I can do to decorate my room? Where would I find pictures of dorm-like examples?

Answer
HGTV always has great ideas and videos you can watch.
I like to decorate with fashion aswell as function in mind meaning that since your in school you can find ways that will be stylish aswell as helpful.

Throw some wall shelves and some memo boards in your place and it's a good way to display pics aswell as leave important notes that you might forget when walking out the door. If your thinking about color always go with the 60/30/10 rule..can't go wrong with that..and like i said HGTV.com you can dabble with 60/30/10 color schemes.

check it out and good luck.!

How to invite a girl over to apartment to hang out with nothing to do?

FSBB

I am a college sophomore. I live in a dorm room like everyone else, but at my school, sophomores live in apartment style dorms, meaning we have a kitchen, bedroom, and main room.

It has a lot of space, but no furniture or things to do. All the school provided in this dorm was a desk and a desk chair for each person. I did buy a futon, a TV, and a stool to sit on when eating at the countertop (we have no table or anywhere to eat).

I want to invite this girl I like over, but I don't know. There is literally nothing to do. I was thinking we could cook food together (always fun with me haha), but there's nowhere to sit and eat. Like I said, I have one stool for the countertop. Or we could sit on the futon in the main room and watch TV or music videos or something, but my roommate has no friends so he doesn't leave ever and there's nowhere for him to go. he would be in the room. And of course, the bedroom has no light and the Wifi sucks in there.....we literally just sleep in there.

What are your thoughts? Should I still invite her over? What ideas do you have?

Answer
Get some furniture if you expect her to ever want to do that...

Gg'

I want to redecorate my bedroom. I'm not doing a whole lot. All I need/want is:

-Paint
-New desk
-New chair for desk
-Dresser
-Night table(s)

Around how much will it cost?

Answer
The cost of redecorating can vary greatly. The more creative you can be the better your budget.

Paint varies on cost. You can count on an average of $30.00 per gallon depending what you buy.
You can go here http://www.sherwin-williams.com they also have a nifty visualizer tool that allows you to take a picture of your room, upload it, and try colors on your wall. http://www.sherwin.com/visualizer/

For your furniture, I would go to yard sales, fleas markets, Goodwill, and the Salvation Army. You can also look in your local paper for some finds. Sometimes you can even get these items for free.
If your willing to refinish or paint your own finds, you can significantly reduce your costs. here is a great site for painting and distressing furniture.
http://movitabeaucraft.wordpress.com/2010/07/19/how-to-antique-and-distress-furniture-with-paint/

Another great idea is furniture covers and throw pillow covers. If you find a chair that you like, but do not like the covering or cushions, chair coverings and throw pillow covers are an inexpensive way to add that new look to your room. Go here http://www.stretchandcover.com/ covers that fit and stretch to look like new upholstery. Beautiful.

In reality, the cost of redecorating a room is up to you. The more industrious and creative you are, the more you can save get the look you want at the same time. Much success in your endeavor!

How do I make my bedroom look more sophisticated?

i'mnotgood

I'm 17, and I have no idea how to decorate my room. I feel like it looks like it belongs to a 13-15 year old girl. And I desperatley want it to look more sophisticated and mature. Sort of like the teenage bedrooms on tumblr, but not the rebellious looking ones with magazine cutouts and posters plastered everywhere.

Help please :)

Answer
There are plenty of options to choose from. But before starting out, you must have a budget in mind and go from there. You don't want to start out on something and end up realizing that for a good effect, you have to end up spending a small fortune. Do you have hobbies or things that you're really keen on like movies, sports, collections or anything like that? That's a good way to start off if you want to have a room that's completely you.

I'll just give you an example here. If you're a collector of sorts who collects stamps, coins, dried flowers etc. you can have display shelves with your collection proudly displayed. You can have wooden furniture to match the room. Solid colored bed linen and accessories will give an intellectual air to the room.

If you like an old-fashioned room, lovely antiques or at least some antique furniture will look beautiful in your room. You can go with lace and tulle and transparent, feminine-looking drapes. A big, oval mirror in a bronze frame will add a touch of charming elegance.

Or if you want to have a typical teen room, bright and cheerful, go with colorful bedding and accessories. This is my personal favorite. Go with a quilt in warm, happy colors. Make the bed the focus of attention with the quilt. Art work for the walls like canvas prints, oil on canvas or acrylic and water color on canvas will create an atmosphere of cozy warmth. Canvas prints of country scenes or flowers or anything that adds to the colorful theme is good. Add some colorful rugs on the floor and throw some pillows on the bed in bright jewel colors.

I was just browsing around and found a website that has some interesting ideas on how to select art work for your walls: http://www.become.com/hub/collectibles-art/paintings-art-sculpture/tips-for-choosing-home-decor-artwork/

What would be your dream kids and family?

Please include kids names, where you would live, what kind of house, description of kids, your husband, family vacations, and pets. Pictures would be great too! This is just for fun, I want to hear what your dream kids and family would be like. 10 points to best answer! Thanks â¥

Answer
My house would be something small, but cosy. There would be enough room for me, my husband, the kids and pets. 4 bedrooms, big garden, double garage and en-suite bathrooms.
http://img.findaproperty.com/townchoice/Northampton/p15558685.jpg

I would marry my husband in a small reception, with not many people. We would marry in a hotel, as neither of us are religious. There will only be a few close friends and family as guests, and we wouldn't have an evening reception.
My dress would be white with small detailing around the waist and chest area.
Dress: http://www.thebridalwearcompany.co.uk/media/products/main/Blanche-front.jpg

My husband would be a caring and compassionate guy that would always be there for the kids and me. He would have a job as a manager in large business, something involving computers and electronics.

My job would be a detective for the county's police station.

I would have 4 children, 3 boys and a girl.

My first born would be a son, named Oliver Samuel. He looks like his mum, and has her brown hair and blue eyes. He has an analytical mind and loves solving problems. He was always good at maths and science, and went on to become a chemist making medicines in a lab. He marries his childhood best friend, Alison and they have two children together: Joseph Oliver and Charlotte Alison.

My second born would be another boy, who I would name Lucas Anthony. He has blonde hair and green eyes, and doesn't look like either of his parents. He's a very creative boy and excelled in art and design at school. He became an art teacher and married a girl he met at college, Samantha. They only had one child, Matilda Rae but adopted a little girl from China, Li Mei.

My third child would be yet another boy, who would be named Mitchell Joseph. He goes by Mitch, and was a popular child. He was outgoing, but sensible. He has brown hair and blue eyes, and looks like his older brother, Oliver. He becomes a private music teacher and teaches mainly guitar and drums to school children. He marries a girl he met at a cafe once, named Laura, and they have three sons; Thomas James, Nathaniel Connor and Finley Matthew.

My last would be a little girl named Emily Katherine. She has brown hair and hazel eyes, and looks a lot like her mum. She loves animals, and has a gift with them. Her best friend is Alex, who she met at playgroup, when she was 3. They marry eachother in the future, and have two daughters; Caroline Rosalie and Cecilia Jane. She is a vet and is well-known across the town for her kindness and gift with animals.

I have two cats, Tommy and Benji. They are brothers and we got them from my brother, who breeds them. Emily loves Tommy and she always plays with him. Benji is a shy cat, and likes to play with Oliver.

they both share a room its the master bedroom ...what colors, patterens, divide it into a girl and boys room

Answer
Personally, I think that 9 to 11 is a huge jump, maturity wise, especially with girls. She's probably starting to think about boys and friends and clothes, etc, and the boy is still a "little kid". It's important that you divide the space A: she's on the verge of becoming a teen and needs her own space to have privacy and escape and RELAX (i'm sure they love each other a lot but also get on each other's nerves) & B: once girls and boys start to mature it's better if they have separate bedrooms. You could definately divide the room up in a cool way. You could go to pottery barn for example, or somewhere similar, and buy some sheers with the cable system: (maybe in white or something neutral)
http://www.pbteen.com/products/p2496/?pkey=cwindow-curtains-drapes-sheers
or you could buy some room dividers (like the folding screens)
a "central space" is also an option. (a lounging, hanging out neutral space) Here you could have a pink floor chair and a blue, you could buy a different, more gender neutral rug, buy some girlier lamps for her, some wall decals for him, just mixing and matching. http://www.pbteen.com/gift/thm/thmlng/thmlngffb/
Or you could make their study space on the dividing line. And make it reflect both your little girl and little boy.http://www.pbteen.com/gift/thm/thmstu/thmstusbs/ (of course these are just starting points, you can always change things up)
If you cleanly divided the room, in the center, where the dividing (invisible of course) line is, you could put a couch and a rug and a tv, or their desks and a rug, or a long dresser that has her drawers on one side, his on the other, etc. you get the idea.
Pottery Barn Kids and Pottery Barn Teen are both great magazines that have wonderful ways of decorating rooms. They are also a great way to look for inspiration or cool ways of doing rooms. Take a look at their websites, and call for a catalog to brouse through for ideas. :) www.potterybarnkids.com & www.pbteen.com. Talk to your kids about how they might want their space to look. They each have the'r own preferences, hobbies- maybe she like dancing and he likes the ocean, etc etc. They probably both have great ideas... If you do decide that you just DON'T want divided rooms, you want them to share, take a look at this:
http://www.potterybarnkids.com/stylehouse/decorate/sharingspaces/index.cfm
You could always choose basic furnature, and have each pick out their own bedspreads, rugs, (little things)
Whatever

What is a good decor & bedding theme for boy and a girl that share a room?

Q. We are moving which means our kids will no longer have their own rooms. My 6 yr old daughter and 2 yr old son will have to share a room. Any good ideas for a theme rm that they will both like?

Whites and blues are traditional beach colors. These two examples are a bit different.
Use a lot of whites and add texture in the room.Have beautiful glass jars filled with shells or star fish .
For simple artwork, there are a few more posters like these at all posters.Frame them and hang them on the walls :http://www.allposters.com/-sp/Sea-Fan-Posters_i2687240_.htm

How to decorate my old New Orleans house?

Rya

I'm moving to a very old fashioned home in New Orleans. The house is not modernized at all. It still has window units for air conditioning in the Windows but so does a lot of homes down here. Some of the features are mantles in the bedroom and living room and a clawfoot tub in the bathroom. Iam not gifted in decor and since the house is not modern its a bigger challenge. The house is also a rental so I cannot make any major changes. Any ideas? Thanks.

Answer
You can mix so many wonderful elements together. I so love victorian, and colonials, but love my decor a bit modern. What I would do is mix new with old. For instance, I have very modern cubby like entertainment center and end tables, but have a vintage coffee table I refinished the same color as my other furniture. On top of refinishing the color, I replaced the knobs for the drawers. It looks fantastic! For my mantle I bought cute tea light holders, 4 smaller, round ones, and 3 larger round ones with crackled glass and set them up along the mantle from one small, one big, one small, etc. I've gotten so many compliments on it! Plus the ambiance looks great. Pair the room with some great curtains, if you're crafty you can make some or you can buy some. I LOVE the "Faux Silk Luster Crushed Curtain Panel Pair" from overstock.com, it's only $20 for a panel pair and is wonderful. It's not completely sheer, but doesn't block out too much light. It comes in plenty of different colors. I also have various plants around the room, I'm addicted to beautiful orchids. (The humidity there would be great for one!) For your bathroom, I would definitely keep the tub, I DREAM of owning a beautiful claw foot tub one day. I would keep the bathroom simple, add maybe a set of small mirrors or pictures. I would have matching dispensers and containers to keep soap, q-tips, etc in and to keep the counters more neat. You can pair with coordinating towels, and rugs. For your bedroom, pick something that you like, but it's soothing to you. I have a purple, black and white theme in my master. I do have a few framed butterflies that I hope to one day make a mural with. If I were you, I would have decor and a theme you enjoy for your rooms. I personally love butterflies, birds and owls and have a bit of each in each room, but without being overpowering.

Answer
Deep red or bold tangerine orange (maybe some hot pink). OR you can go with the traditional, safe yellow/ white scheme. Both are equally asthetically pleasing. (I'd go with the bold colors since your a teenager) If your bed linens are yellow, then bunch up some differently sized pillows that are different shades of orange/red bold colors. Use a light orange nightstand lamp by your bed to sort of create a continuous feel to the color scheme. Hang up a large picture. I'd go with something modern looking. Hang them on top of eachother to get a very nice popping effect. If you have harwood flooring, maybe a nice striped rug that uses a yellow/white/orange color scheme.
I hope this helped. If not, here's a really nice site that might help you out. There aren't many yellow color schemes, but it has some pretty inspiring ideas. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/rooms/bedroom/

Does anyone have any pictures or ideas for a techno-style bedroom?

adagio_75

My 15 year old sister-in-law wants to change her bedroom design from a mostly leopard print theme to techno. I want to help her but I really don't know what techno design for a room would look like. She doesn't have alot of money to completely refurnish the room so items like her leopard print area rug, leopard print lamp shades and picture frames will have to be used. Any ideas or pictures would be great.

Answer
When I think of a techno style bedroom I think of lots of fun bright cheery colors with nice white sleek backdrop. For a techno styled bedroom; you could do a modern look. Go for clean, straight lines if possible. I would go for a white or neutral backdrop with pops of color. If some new furniture pieces are in your budget look for white furniture (bed frame, dresser, desk, nightstand)or you can repurpose old furniture and paint it white. For accessories look for bright colors like orange (for a lamp; canât afford a new lamp you can take an existing lamp, sand it down and spray paint it in an high gloss orange (or whatever bright colors she likes), yellow (picture frames, pillows), and green (pillows, vases for flowers, etc.). If she doesnât like those colors, you can do any color combo that she will like. You can find a cheap/good looking area rug @ Wal-mart in white, but if you donât look for white (or another color) bath rugs and connect them together with carpet tape to make a large area rug. You can also change out the lamp shades for a cheap cost or you can cover existing lamp shades with fabric to match the new room décor. For the walls you can blow up her favorite DJ album covers and frame them; or you can get vector silhouettes of DJâs like this : http://garcya.us/blog/free-dj-vector-graphic-art/ or http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/2286211/2/istockphoto_2286211_dj_at_turntable or http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/4306917/2/istockphoto_4306917_dj_silhouette.jpg or http://www.smashingmagazine.com/images/iconsnew/bittbox.jpg http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/5671904/2/istockphoto_5671904_beach_party.jpg or images like these and have them blown up to put them on the walls. You can also blow up varying silhouettes of dancers and put them on the wall (http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/5753237/2/istockphoto_5753237_spring_girl.jpg http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/5768186/2/istockphoto_5768186_just_wanna_have ). Also music notes and headphones (http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/5481959/2/istockphoto_5481959_grunge_headphones.jpg http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/5802696/2/istockphoto_5802696_headphones.jpg http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/5881226/2/istockphoto_5881226_hand_drawn_musik_retro.jpg would be a cool option also. For bedding you can do something simple like white with a bright colored throw and pillows or bright colored bedding with white pillows and one bright colored accent pillow. Also for bedding you can do bedding in a fun solid color and do an image transfer of her favorite DJ or techno image. Hope this gives you a few ideas, good luck :)

I would marry my husband in a small reception, with not many people. We would marry in a hotel, as neither of us are religious. There will only be a few close friends and family as guests, and we wouldn't have an evening reception.
My dress would be white with small detailing around the waist and chest area.

All my children and grandchildren:
Ollie, Luke, Mitch and Emily
Joe, Lottie, Tilly, Li, Tom, Nate, Finn, Callie and Celia.

Do they expect the celibate rule on catholic priests to be indefinite?

Glu

Because I don't really see any celibate priests or the myth of perfection through celibacy being mistaken for a "rational" choice anytime soon. At this rate I can bet you the Vatican itself will be "pro-gay" in 50 years, given that the Pope itself is always caucasian, and that by 2062 it will NOT be a harsh social reactionary as we understand one now.

Answer
As long as they stop child abuse... and it is not just boys ... girls get done over also and Nuns also abuse girls in their charge and the children even do it to the children.
I need to agree here ... I have been celibate myself before and I did it for a couple of years straight ... so it is not just an automatic link.
I don't think the churches will last that long but whatever happens ... lets just hope that they respect the kids and the adults and we all just get along.
I love all religions in their deep respect for a belief and their art and their lovely old buildings with such rich and colorful designs and feel that we as humans better forgive.
I forgive the Catlickers for what they did to me as a child and they were the only humans who ever cut my hair when I was a little girl ...so...they never meant to hurt me so deeply.
I hope everybody is not gay or we as the humans can't make kids ... but they still have a choice and it is not my business if they are or what they do in the bedroom.
Lets just hope peace rules???
I was born in 1962 ... so if I make it to 100 ... I will be very lucky indeed.
