I am a teenage girl and I fully redecorated my room 2 years ago, so I don't want to go all out this time. But I am looking for some small cheap ways to spruce up my bedroom. I am already saving up for a new comforter set. It's $40 and I'm hoping it's the most expensive thing I'll end up buying. So does anybody have any ideas of ways to inexpensively semi-redecorate my bedroom? Keeping in mind that I can't rearrange my furniture because my room is set up so that the only arrangement that works is the way I currently have it.
Answer
Easy and inexpensive to add decor in a contemporary style using white and your accent color, best to pull a color from your bedding or choose an earth tone that coordinates with all colors such as blue-green/turquoise.
for ex. using white and turquoise,

Make a cute accent pillow for your bed. Easy to sew with a needle and thread if you can't use a sewing machine.
Cut fabric 13x30"
Fold the fabric in half, in-side-out so the color/print is inside.
Sew 1/2" in, along the edge on the two long sides, leaving the short end open.
Turn pillow cover right-side-out so the color/print is on the outside.
Fill with batting or even with a sweater/shirt you don't wear anymore.
Then sew up the opening.

3-D collage
Cut a large rectangle from box cardboard or use a poster board.
To make the hanger, punch two holes 1/2 inch apart, 2" from the top in the center,
thread both ends of a twisty-tie (paper covered wire used to close bread) thru the holes, make a loop,
turn cardboard over and twist the ends together.
Cut out or print different size pics of all the things you love, glue pics slightly over the edge of the other-overlapping so you can't see the cardboard underneath, you can add photos, words, captions, quotes...
Turn over and weight down til dry to prevent curling.

Interior Designing Teen Bedroom?
ZoeG
Hey all! My (almost) 15 year-old daughter is moving down to our (what is now) office. We have already painted her room a lilac/lavender color. She found a beautiful metal queen-sized bed frame and she doesn't know what else she wants. She can't decide between black or white furniture. The bed is a four-poster black bed http://www.ifurn.com/Metal-Beds_ContourMB.html#ProdDetails and she found a room she really likes http://www.house-decorating-ideas.com/TeenGirlsPurpleBedroom.html but it doesn't give the curtain names or anything. We have a 9 drawer double-dresser that is a natural wood and she wanted to paint it but is not sure now what to paint it. She was going to paint it white but now can't decide between black or white. The trim of the room is white. She wants the color scheme to now be purple, black and white. Would that work? Do you have any ideas for her room? She doesn't like contemporary but she doesn't want her room to look childish. She wants it "pretty" and sophisticated.
Oh I almost forgot. She wants black and white photography in her room. Nothing with big flowers and no stripes or polkadots (Some exceptions) She has a very specific idea about her room and she just needs a little help (Remember a black metal bed) So what color furniture?
Correction nothing with big/small tropical flowers! =)
Her room is 11'-6'' x 14'-9''
There is only one wall with nothing on it (no windows, closet) Other walls not a lot of clear space to work with. Windows close together on two walls and then the closet. Any ideas for the closet?
Thanks for your feedback everyone!
Answer
White white is always better because it can make a room more light and happier feeling then dark and cold and for the closet get some really nice closet doors ... i dont know hoe to explain what mine look like but just go to a hardware store and shop around
(I just did my bathroom lilac and white and it looks really good!)
