i want my room sorta dance themed-but not too much........i need some cool tideas and cheap ways to decorate. my walls are sort of a hot pink and my curtains and stuff have sea green, not bright but not dark blue, and purple. any help would be good. o-i have a TON of stuffed animals-wat to do with those?????? thanks!!

you can put lines of duck tape vertically or horizontally across your walls and paint it, leaving stripes on your walls that make it looks designed

you can also try painting circles of dark and light pink, big and small on corners of the wall to make them look like bubbles

you can get glow in the dark stickers for the ceiling and have them glow to get a night club dance feel

for the stuffed animals, put them in rows on a high shelf sticking out from the wall, maybe right above your bed
don't put too much ON your bed or it'll be messy

I need help on a small bedroom design!?

They have to share a room.
Either a bunk bed or 2 twin beds.
The room is EXTREMELY small so I need something that will make it look bigger.

I'd do 2 raised day-beds with tons of under-bed storage, so that you don't have to put a lot of other bulky furniture in the room. Also, try not to cover the windows with heavy treatments, if it can be avoided.

EDIT:
Also, painting opposing walls a light shade can give the illusion of having a longer room. The wall that you see whenever you first enter the room should be the brighter color, and the 2 on the other sides should be a muted shade. The wall that the door is on should be a matching lighter color. If they are girls, muted yellow and bright yellow would work well. Keep wall art interesting, but don't use more than 1 or 2 pieces, to keep the look open.

My room is pretty small.. Something like 3 meters by 4.5.. I've got my single bed, 3 door wardrobe and small bookshelf in there so far and they're all on one of the loger sides of the wall .. I was wondering how do I design this small room without cluttering it with furniture.. The room is quite odd with the panel, ceiling to floor windows in the middle of the 3 meter wide wall.. And there's the door on the opposite.. I currently have a single 4 meter wide waall free /: its too complicated.. How do I make a neat cool organised room out of this small place? And it would be nice if you could attatch websites where I can buy affoardable furniture in the UK..

Oh my god, ceiling to floor windows! You're really lucky ;D
Well, I guess you could keep a section of those windows permanently shut and put your desk in front of them so you can always look out on a nice view.
The main thing with tiny rooms is organisation. Also, make sure that you like your room the way it is. A great idea is one of those things that can be used for multiple purposes, eg. under-bed storage, shelves off the walls, and one of those bench-type things that can open up to store stuff. I don't know where you can get those, but keep a look out for them ;D
If you could get stacked pull-out drawers, that could be great too. If there isn't enough space across, then go up!

Small Space-saving Teen Girl Bedroom?

Couldn't get into sight that you suggested so I'm on my own.

Love the idea that you want to "keep the magic alive." Great idea. We can all use is little magic in our lives.

I'm going with a single bed since I don't know if you have a larger bed. Take a good look around your room and see what you have. How about windows? A study desk could possibly go under the window to afford more light during day light hours to do home work, computer, etc. Could possibly save a little on electric bill if you put some of that sunshine to use. Bed could go next to bed, again if this is possible. Good place to put alarm clock and perhaps a small desk top lap if there is enough room on desk. I'm sure you could find the space. When doing home work or other project over flow from desk could be put on bed temporarily. When done with project these things can be put back on desk. Sure you don't want to rest your head on one of your schools books when it's time to ZZZ.

Maybe you could find a Harry Potter poster, framed or unframed to put on a wall, depending on wall space. Could also look around for witches hat to hand next to Harry Potter poster or if poster is framed then hang on edge of frame. Think of other Harry Potter things that could possibly hung on the wall or put somewhere around your room. Might be able to find these things at Goodwill or second hand stores. Maybe mom could take you to these places to look around. Just saw a framed Harry Potter poster at the Goodwill. You never know what you can find there that shouldn't have to cost you or mom an arm and leg. If you go to Goodwill look where they have the frames and such.

Where ever you put your bed, if possible, I would try to keep work desk near by for suggested reasons above. Look around to find out what's out there regarding Harry Potter theme. If it's too expensive do you really need it? Also check out rummage sales for the things you're looking for.

Anything you might bump into regarding Harry Potter think about if will look the way you want it to look in your bedroom. Remember you are doing this for your self. It's your project, it's your room. Good luck and have fun putting putting things together.

If you have a black and white zebra comforter picked out, you need to choose another color to accent with. Pink, orange, turquoise, lime, purple, red...all look good. Paint your walls a light shade of whatever color you choose then start adding that color around your room in accents like pillows, throws, area rugs, candles, flowers, art, and lamps. I wouldn't add too much more of the zebra print, just a little here and there, to keep the bed your focal point. Here are some

Hope this helped. What you want to keep in mind, I think, is that too much zebra print wouldn't look good. If it's on the bed, use it sparingly around the room.

Why not make your own?

Take an existing comforter that you know fits your bed....

Then go to the fabric store and pick out a fabric that you really really like for your bed. Get enough to cover the comforter and to make a few throw pillows and maybe even a couple of curtain panels.

Lay out the fabric...wrong side to wrong side........enough to cover the comforter and leave about a foot of fabric to overlap on the other side....sort of like an envelope.....
then sew up the two sides. Very simple way to make your own comforter.

Then simply slip the old comforter into the new 'pocket' comforter. There you have a brand new comforter.

Very simple.

Then for a pillow.....cut out the shape you want.....(squares or rectangles are easiest) .....sew the wrong side to wrong side leaving a small opening to stuff the pillow.....stuff it ...then sew up the opening.

For the curtains.....fold in about one inch of fabric all the way around the edge....pin it in place... sew it (this is called finishing the fabric so you don't have raw edges of fraying fabric hanging off the edge)......now that your fabric is 'finished'................fold over four inches of fabric .....put a stitch at the top of the curtain one inch from the top............then another one three inches from the top....this will leave a two inch tunnel for the curtain rod to go through.

Save some of your fabric scraps to line the inside of some decorative baskets......now that you know how to sew a few things ...this will be a snap.
Just do like you did for the curtains.... leave a tunnel and put a nylon cording or rope or ribbon through the tunnel to make a draw string deal that you can pull to snug the fabric around the basket.

You can find old sewing machines at flea markets and garage sales and auctions. Learn to use a sewing machine and the sky is the limit on what you can make. You will be shocked at how easy it is to sew and how much money you will save from buying store bought items. They charge way too much for that stuff anyway.

Teen Girl Bedroom Design?

We're getting a vacation house this year, so I need to design my room. I kind of have an idea..but I kind of don't. The rooms aren't going to be huge, so this is what I have.
I'm thinking either a daybed (really cute and not very expensive) or maybe a loft bed (also cute, more space for storage, etc.) Either will work. I'm thirteen, and my favorite color is blue. I like being modern and fashionable not like cute, little girl rooms. I don't want the whole thing blue. So the room is most likely going to be a small to medium sqaure room. Could you pick me out a cute daybed, or loftbed (on a website like Ikea, I don't just want pictures..It must be able to be purchased!), A comforter, a dresser, a chair, end table, lamp, and some room accesories will win you the best answer. All ideas are apreciated. Thanks so much!

can anyone suggest a beautiful design for a teenage girl's bedroom. i am having problems because the floor is green.

the green floor isn't a problem

go with a bohemian look, with lots of colors,

satin comforter (my friend got one for $34 at Ross - like a TJ Maxx or other seconds stores)

mosquito netting,

lots of storage, bookshelves, wardrobes,

lamps and sconces of different colors,

throw pillows with texture, corderoy, embroidery, silky.

Sheer curtains in different colors, over the windows, over the doors, put up curtain rods on the walls and hang curtains where ever you want, instead of painting the walls if you are uncertain about a paint color. A soft green, or blue, or mid-tone red, warm yellow will look great on the wall.

Avoid pastels. You want rich jewel tones to draw attention away from the green carpet.

Set up a small reading area away from your bed and desk. An old armchair from a second hand store draped with chenille throws will give you a comfy space to relax.

Organize the desk, it will help with studying and preparing for college. Now's a good time to get a filing cabinet and learn to file personal papers and bank statements.

Bed could go next to bed, again if this is possible. Good place to put alarm clock and perhaps a small desk top lap if there is enough room on desk. I'm sure you could find the space. When doing home work or other project over flow from desk could be put on bed temporarily. When done with project these things can be put back on desk. Sure you don't want to rest your head on one of your schools books when it's time to ZZZ.

Maybe you could find a Harry Potter poster, framed or unframed to put on a wall, depending on wall space. Could also look around for witches hat to hand next to Harry Potter poster or if poster is framed then hang on edge of frame. Think of other Harry Potter things that could possibly hung on the wall or put somewhere around your room. Might be able to find these things at Goodwill or second hand stores. Maybe mom could take you to these places to look around. Just saw a framed Harry Potter poster at the Goodwill. You never know what you can find there that shouldn't have to cost you or mom an arm and leg. If you go to Goodwill look where they have the frames and such.

Where ever you put your bed, if possible, I would try to keep work desk near by for suggested reasons above. Look around to find out what's out there regarding Harry Potter theme. If it's too expensive do you really need it? Also check out rummage sales for the things you're looking for.

Anything you might bump into regarding Harry Potter think about if will look the way you want it to look in your bedroom. Remember you are doing this for your self. It's your project, it's your room. Good luck and have fun putting putting things together.

ok so im a girl, 14, about to be 15. i have a small bedroom at the moment that i absoultely hate. i got my parents to agree to let me move in the bonus room of my house. it is verryyy big. so i'll have lots of room. i have a whole theme in my room im in now, but i dont want as much of a theme this time. i still kinda want a theme but not so much that i cant add like posters n pictures n that kinda stuff on my wall.

I'd do 2 raised day-beds with tons of under-bed storage, so that you don't have to put a lot of other bulky furniture in the room. Also, try not to cover the windows with heavy treatments, if it can be avoided.

EDIT:
Also, painting opposing walls a light shade can give the illusion of having a longer room. The wall that you see whenever you first enter the room should be the brighter color, and the 2 on the other sides should be a muted shade. The wall that the door is on should be a matching lighter color. If they are girls, muted yellow and bright yellow would work well. Keep wall art interesting, but don't use more than 1 or 2 pieces, to keep the look open.

If you have a black and white zebra comforter picked out, you need to choose another color to accent with. Pink, orange, turquoise, lime, purple, red...all look good. Paint your walls a light shade of whatever color you choose then start adding that color around your room in accents like pillows, throws, area rugs, candles, flowers, art, and lamps. I wouldn't add too much more of the zebra print, just a little here and there, to keep the bed your focal point. Here are some

Why not make your own?

Take an existing comforter that you know fits your bed....

Then go to the fabric store and pick out a fabric that you really really like for your bed. Get enough to cover the comforter and to make a few throw pillows and maybe even a couple of curtain panels.

Lay out the fabric...wrong side to wrong side........enough to cover the comforter and leave about a foot of fabric to overlap on the other side....sort of like an envelope.....
then sew up the two sides. Very simple way to make your own comforter.

Then simply slip the old comforter into the new 'pocket' comforter. There you have a brand new comforter.

Very simple.

Then for a pillow.....cut out the shape you want.....(squares or rectangles are easiest) .....sew the wrong side to wrong side leaving a small opening to stuff the pillow.....stuff it ...then sew up the opening.

For the curtains.....fold in about one inch of fabric all the way around the edge....pin it in place... sew it (this is called finishing the fabric so you don't have raw edges of fraying fabric hanging off the edge)......now that your fabric is 'finished'................fold over four inches of fabric .....put a stitch at the top of the curtain one inch from the top............then another one three inches from the top....this will leave a two inch tunnel for the curtain rod to go through.

Save some of your fabric scraps to line the inside of some decorative baskets......now that you know how to sew a few things ...this will be a snap.
Just do like you did for the curtains.... leave a tunnel and put a nylon cording or rope or ribbon through the tunnel to make a draw string deal that you can pull to snug the fabric around the basket.

You can find old sewing machines at flea markets and garage sales and auctions. Learn to use a sewing machine and the sky is the limit on what you can make. You will be shocked at how easy it is to sew and how much money you will save from buying store bought items. They charge way too much for that stuff anyway.

My room is pretty small.. Something like 3 meters by 4.5.. I've got my single bed, 3 door wardrobe and small bookshelf in there so far and they're all on one of the loger sides of the wall .. I was wondering how do I design this small room without cluttering it with furniture.. The room is quite odd with the panel, ceiling to floor windows in the middle of the 3 meter wide wall.. And there's the door on the opposite.. I currently have a single 4 meter wide waall free /: its too complicated.. How do I make a neat cool organised room out of this small place? And it would be nice if you could attatch websites where I can buy affoardable furniture in the UK..

Well, I guess you could keep a section of those windows permanently shut and put your desk in front of them so you can always look out on a nice view.
The main thing with tiny rooms is organisation. Also, make sure that you like your room the way it is. A great idea is one of those things that can be used for multiple purposes, eg. under-bed storage, shelves off the walls, and one of those bench-type things that can open up to store stuff. I don't know where you can get those, but keep a look out for them ;D
If you could get stacked pull-out drawers, that could be great too. If there isn't enough space across, then go up!

go with a bohemian look, with lots of colors,

satin comforter (my friend got one for $34 at Ross - like a TJ Maxx or other seconds stores)

mosquito netting,

lots of storage, bookshelves, wardrobes,

lamps and sconces of different colors,

throw pillows with texture, corderoy, embroidery, silky.

Sheer curtains in different colors, over the windows, over the doors, put up curtain rods on the walls and hang curtains where ever you want, instead of painting the walls if you are uncertain about a paint color. A soft green, or blue, or mid-tone red, warm yellow will look great on the wall.

Avoid pastels. You want rich jewel tones to draw attention away from the green carpet.

Set up a small reading area away from your bed and desk. An old armchair from a second hand store draped with chenille throws will give you a comfy space to relax.

Organize the desk, it will help with studying and preparing for college. Now's a good time to get a filing cabinet and learn to file personal papers and bank statements.

Girl it depends where you live.

I live in Texas, and Texas ain't cheap, especially if you live in Dallas, Bellaire, Houston, Sugarland, etc

Anyways I live in a 1bd and 1 bath at 895 sq ft apartment with new modern appliances, hardwood floors, washer and dryer included, wonderful staffs, gym, and a doggy park for my dog.

The interior of my apartment is awesome. I get to pick what color walls i want to move in. I also have a large balcony with a cute electric fire place. My kitchen is very modern looking. I have a double stink with hand swap on-off faucet. The bathroom is very European style. It's automatic and we also have a small sink next to the toilet to clean your bum.

But it is not furnish, cost me $1115/monthly.

And it just me and my husband, and our Siberian husky.

But with furnish apartments it can run anywhere from $1050-$2500.

It's hard to find an apartment for 3 bds and be under $1500.

For your fan, if its a three blade floor fan, then paint each blade a primary color, then when you turn it on, it will have a rainbow look to it

You could get a dreamcatcher, or make one.

You could buy a cork board, or make one using a bunch of old wine corks, but if you have a store bought one, then staple some fabric onto it and give it a new look. I really like fabric that has a chevron design on it.

If you buy some wooden block letters, then you could glue two of them together after you paint them, one on top of the other and make book ends. This works best on four letter words and love is a popular choice.

You could buy curtains, and new bedspread and if you hang a wire across your room and paint some wooden clothespins, you have a cute way to hang pictures or notes

Wallpaper is also popular, but don't overdo it!! Do one wall fully or all four walls bordered.

Add some throw pillows, and posters

You could also take fabric and staple it to styrofoam and hang them in groups on your wall. You don't need nails for styrofoam which means less holes in the walls.

If you need storage for jewellery, you could paint an ice cube tray and use it to store your earrings, etc
