I can't change the carpet or paint the walls but I want my room to look more like a teenage girls room. The walls are a really light cream/wood color and the carpet has flecks of purple and tan in it. I just want some ideas as to how to decorate in a way that will tie every thing in. What color furniture? curtains? and bed set?

Hanging light purple sheer panels can lighten it up since there are flecks of purple in the carpeting. A light colored poster board would brighten up the room along with some teen posters (I've seen an array of posters at Walmart). A light purple bedspread that matches the curtains would also bring brightness into the room. Go to garage sales and get an old piece of furniture like a table or a small desk. Paint the top one color and the legs another. Like purple top, tan legs. Sometimes you can get reject paint at paint stores or Walmart at a good price. If you get poster board and it has a border, use that brightly colored paint to accent it. A purple border that matches the table/desk would look beautiful. I hope this helps you, just be creative.

Color and material schemed for house remodel?

Remodeling house and want to go with a tuscany color scheme. Unfortunately, upstairs, am limited to carpet as my husband thinks wood would be too slippery with my dogs and autistic child. Rooms are average in size with only one small bedroom. Am using a beautiful gold on the walls. Any suggestions for carpet color? Hate brown carpet, so I was sort of thinking of olive, but am concerned about the dark color. Any decorating help would be soooooo appreciated.
