interior bedroom painting ideas?
Q. Hi, I need help decideing how to paint my room. I like exotic or retro ideas. If somebody could find me a website or something that has millions of bedroom scheme pics that would be great! Thanks!

A. Think of the mood you want to create in your room. For a retro, exotic look you could go for an old-Hollywood style room with red walls, black furniture (including a cool vanity table, of course) and old movie posters that fit the colors of the room and look glamorous. Lots of plush materials (velvets, faux fur) would complete the look nicely. Think about whether you want warmth (warm colors; reds, browns, purples, etc) or a cool, tranquil feel (blues, greens, pale colors) and then a style like tropical, mod, contemporary, retro, victorian, romantic, shabby chic and search for that in Google. You'll get some good pictures. Check out the decorating books at Barnes and Noble, too for ideas. Hope this helps!

Opinions on Shabby Chic Style?
Q. What is your opinions on Shabby Chic Style? I often hear mixed opinions about it. Do you think it is warm? Cold? Inviting? Do you like the painted white furniture?

A. I personal think Shabby Chic is comfortable and inviting and yes I like white painted furniture. Most of my home has cherry wood furnishings in an "Old World" style but my bedroom has white painted furniture. I am a firm believer that you don't have to be rich to have a beautiful home. Shabby Chic makes the mix of old and new together look timeless. Of course there are some who just can't decorate and wind up having a shabby home regardless but if you look at design idea's in magazines, books and on-line, Shabby Chic can be beautiful. I once knew a woman who took "Country" to extreme with all the little pig, ducks and sheep knick knack stuff. She went as far as having her refrigerator painted in a cow pattern. Now that wasn't country, just tacky. Get the picture. : )
