How do I best create a beach/tropical style bedroom?

Q. I am a college student moving into a house and I have total control over how to design my room. I want to create an open, airy room that reminds me of a tropical and beachy setting.

I have no furniture yet, no bedding yet, a carpeted room, and white walls to paint any color.

How should i decorate my new bedroom?

Q. I'm 15 and i want a really unique look for my walls in my bedroom not just the boring normal colours. Any ideas on how i could decorate it?

A. do u like the beach? you could do sandy-colored carpet and blue painted walls. on the walls you could stencil a cluster of bright tropical flowers, u can find all this stuff at a home-improvement store. or, if you're more a flower person, stencil flowers on your walls, but maybe just in one cluster. if you have flowers stencils in one corner, as well as a bright green back-round, find either a plain green bed-spread, or one with flowers. find bright color throw pillows that match your room, tie matching-colored ribbons around bedposts and all. or, you could just stick with the photographs and pictures of your friends and you hanging up on the wall, not to mention your favorite painting! you can find really cute, cheap, picture frames and stuff, if thats easier. remember, find something that brings out you!
